The Board of Aldermen of the City of 1�ichita Falls met in r'egular
session on the above date with the following members present:

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Moved by alderman Hunt that the application of C. B. Felder
for a permit to construct a brick business building on Lot 1, ;Block
464, Original Townsite, to be used for the purpose of operating an
Auto Laundry, Gasoline and Greusing Station, be received, and the City
Clerk be instructed to give notice by publication of a public hearing
to be held at 7:30 P. !,1. October 29th, 1928, in the Council Chamber
of the Iriemorial .auditorium for the purpose of hearing protests.

license for the operation of a public dance hall iVorth of the Holli-
day Creek bridge on the tort ';forth Highway.

jhe public hearing with reference to the application of
Fred E. A. Darr for a permit to construct and operate a Gasoline
Filling Station at 907 zwelfth Street was called and after hearing no
protests, the following motion was put in order:

12th Street.

coved by ,lderman eatton that the tax valuation on the I;orth
50 feet of Lots 18 and 19, Block 6, Cest Side Highland Addition, be
reduced from ;�3,300. to ,�3,000. for the year 1928 and the taxes on
over valuation be remitted.

Moved by Alderman Patton that the City Clerx be authorized to
issue a license to T. A. Richardson f or the operation of a Domino Parlor
at 6201 grant Street under the terms of Ordinance No. 496.
Motion seconded by Alderman King and carried unanimously.
Moved by Alderman King that the proposed plat of Stokes Addi-
tion be referred to the City Manager for his r9gommendation.
Motion seconded by Alderman Carter and unanimously carried.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 8 uF ORDINANCE NO. 640, PASSED
BY THE .BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF 17ICHITA FALLS ON THE LOTH DAY
OF JANUARY, 1921, AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE 770, PASSED AND APPROVED MAY
17TH, 1926, ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE EXAMINING AND SUPER-
VISING BOARD OF PLUMBERS, DESIGNATING THE MEMBERS THEREOF, AND PRE-
SCRIBING THEIR POWER AIM DUTIES AND TERM OF OFFICE; PROVIDING FOR THE
LICENSING OF PLUMBERS, AND THE GIVING OF INDEMNITY BONDS BY PERSONS,
FIRMS OR CORPORATIONS, ENGAGED IN THE BUSINESS OF PLUMBING IN -THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, AND SETTING FORTH THE RULES, REGULATIONS, MAN-
NER AND WAY IN M ICH PLUMBING WORK SHALL BE DONE; THE KIND AN+D CLASS OF
MATERIALS TO BE USED IN SUCH WORK, THE INSPECTION OF PLUMBING AND ALSG
SCALE OF FEES FOR SUCH INSPECTIONS; DEFINING THE POWER AND DUTIES OF
THE CITY ENGINEER AND INSPECTOR OF PLUMBING, AND REGULATING PERMITS FOR
CERTAIN KINDS OF PLUMBING, DRAINAGE, AND COMPLETING BUILDINGS UNDER
CERTAIN CONDITIONS TO BE CONNECTED WITH SANITARY SEWERS, PROHIBITING
THE THROWING OF WASTES, GARBAGE, ETC., INTO THE SEWER SYSTEM, AND THE
INJURY OF THE SYSTEM IN ANY MANNER, AND PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR THE
VIOLATION OF ANY OF THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ACT, AND REPEALING ALL ORDI-
NANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT WITH SAME; AND CREATING THIS
AN EMERGENCY MEASURE AND SUSPENDING THE RULES AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY"
Moved by Alderman King that Urdinance No. 1004 be passed on
its second reading.
Motion seconded by Alderman Carter and carried by the follow-
ing vote:
Yeas: Aldermen King, Carter, Patton and Hunt.
Nays: None.
Moved by Alderman Hunt that the City Manager be authorized to
continue to bill the Texas Electric Service Company for water furnished
their plant at the rate of 8� per thousand gallons; said rate to be in
effect until November 1930 or the expiration of the pumping contract
between the City and the Electric. Company.
Motion seconded by Alderman Carter and unanimously carried.
