The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in regular session on the above date with the following members present: J. V. Akin, i.;ayor, Roy E. Carter, Q J. H. Patton, Q J. :. Hunt, Q Aldermen, Oral Jones, Q G. D. Fairtrace, City Hanager, W. E. McBroom, City Clerk, Thelbert I,.artin, City Attorney. The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Moved by Alderman Patton that the City Attorney be instructed to draft an ordinance amending the Plumbing Ordinance to reduce the re- newal license fee from u50.00 to � 25.00. Itotion seconded by Alderman Hunt and carried. i._oved by Alderman Hunt that the plat of the Rogers -Kelly -Lyle subdivision submitted by J. W. Lyle be approved. .Motion seconded by Alderman Carter and carried. T.oved by Alderman Carter that the application of Fred E. A. Darr for a permit to establish a gasoline filling station at 907 12th Street be received and the City Clerk be instructed to give notice by publication of a public hearing to be held at 7:30 P. I�1. Moved by Alderman Jones that the :tayor be authorized to enter into contract with Garrett and Company, Dallas, Texas, and the Illinois Merchants Trust Company of Chicago, Illinois, for sale of 4250,000.00 refunding bonds authorized at an election on August 28th at par and accrued interest with an allowance of 17o for expenses. vote: Motion seconded by Alderman Hunt and carried by the following Yeas: Aldermen Jones, Hunt and Carter. Nays: Alderman Patton. The, hearing with reference to closing Eleventh Streit between Blocks 196 and 197, Original Townsite, was called and after hearing no protests, the following motion was put in order. Moved by Alderman Hunt that the hearing be closed. Motion seconded by Alderman Carter and carried. ORDINANCE NO.1000 AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING THAT PORTION OF ELEVENTH STREET ADJACENT TO AND SEPARATING BLOCKS 196 AND 197 OF THE ORIGINAL TOVMSITE OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, AND WEST OF MICHIGAN AVENUE OF SAID TOWNSITE, SAID PORTION OF ELEVENTH STREET BEING HERE- INAFTER MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED - moved by Alderman Hunt that Ordinance No. 1000 be passed on its third and final reading and be adopted as read. Motion seconded by Aldermen Carter and carried by the fol- lowing vote: Yeas: Aldermen Hunt, Carter, Jones and Patton. Nays: None. The -hearing with reference to granting the Wichita Falls & Southern Railroad Company a franchise to construct and operate an industry track acorss Grant Street was called and after hearing no protests the following motion was put in order: Moved by Alderman Hunt that the hearing be closed. Motion seconded by Alderman Caster and carried. ORDINANCE NO.1001 AN ORDINANCE GRANTING TO THE WICHITA FALLS AND SOUTHERN RAILROAD COMPANY AN EASEMENT TO CONSTRUCT, OPERATE AND MAINTAIN AN INDUSTRY TRACK OVER AND ACROSS GRANT STREET UNDER THE CONDITION AND RESTRICTIONS HEREIN IMPOSED. Moved by Alderman Hunt that Ordinance No. 1001 be passed on its third and final reading and be adopted as read. ORDINANCE NO. 999 AN ORDINANCE GRANTING THE PIONEER REFINERS COMPANY A FRAN- CHISE TO CONSTRUCT, :,AINTAIN AND OPERATE A DOUBLE TWO (2) INCH PIPE LINE UNDER AND ACROSS CERTAIN STREETS IN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS. sSoved by Alderman bunt that Ordinance No. 999 be passed on its third and final reading and be adopted as read.
