The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in
regular session on -the above date with the following members present;

The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
;.oved by Alderman Hunt that the matter of regulating the
keeping,of chickens in the City Limits be referred to the City Attorney
for opinion as to legality and to the City Tanager for his opinion as
to the feasibility of the adoption of an ordinance covering this sub-
ject.

iioved by .;lderman Hunt that the petition filed by I.,rs.
Rousey requesting that the irrigation ditch running through the city
near her property be accepted, and the city officials be instructed
to use every effort to have the proper authorities remedy the situa-
tion complained of.

(loved by Alderman Hunt that Lever Brothers Company be granted
8; special permit to conduct an advertising and distributing campaign
in conjunction with .the local merchants in October 1928.

to request the owner of the, contractor's building located at Sixth and
Scott to have same moved from the Street.

ORDINANCE NO. 997
AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE STORAGE OF CALCIUM CARBIDE WITHIN
THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS; REQUIRING A
PERMIT FOR KEEPING IN EXCESS OF ONE HUNDRED POUNDS; PROVIDING SPECIFIC-
� ALLY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND LOCATION OF STORAGE BUILDINGS; REV IRING
REPORTS TO BE I1ADE TO THE FIRE IAARSHALL, AND PRESCRIBING A PENALTY.
moved by Alderman Hunt that ordinance No. 997 be passed on
its second reading.

ing vats;
Yeas; Aldermen Hunt, Carter, King and Jones.
Nays; None.
Moved by .Alderman garter that w. L. Dalton be appointed pre-
siding judge and J. E. Ehlers be 4ppoInt.ed clerk to serve in the special
bond election at the Court House on Augast 28th to replace C. Y. Tully
and Miss Gertrude Datton who cannot serve.
