regular session on the above date with the following members present:

Roved by Alderman Patton that the claim for damage filed by
Mrs. Rousey be referred to the City Attorney to find out who is
legally liable for the alleged damage.
Friction seconded by Alderman Hunt and carried.
Moved by Alderman Carter that due to the following described
property being owned by the Assembly of God during the years 1926 and
1927 the city taxes be cancelled.

Moved by alderman iiag that the Spanish 1„;ar Veterans Organi-
zation be allowed free use of the Auditorium for a home talent play to
be staged on September 21st, 1928, for the purpose of raising funds to
pay for the statue now located on the Auditorium grounds.

Roved by Alderman Carter that the tax valuation on property
owned by the Wichita -Ranger Oil & Refining Company be reduced by the

taxes on over valuation be remitted.

Engineer Rugeley be authorized to attend a meeting of Sanitary Engineers
to be held at Cleburne on August 27th.

AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING ANY PERSON, FIRM OR CORPORATION FROM
SETTING OFF DYNAMITE OR ANY OTHER EXPLOSIVE WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF
THE CITY OF W ICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, WITHOUT FIRST PROCURING A PERMIT FROM
THE CITY ENGINEER, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY.
Moved by Alderman Carter that Ordinance No. 996 be passed on
its third and final reading and be adopted as read.

Moved by Alderman Hunt that an action of the Mayor in signing
release of mechanics lien on Lot 1, Block 10, Sibley Taylor Addition be
ratified and approved.

Atoved by Alderman Hunt that on account of error in measure-
ment the sale of Lot 142, Block "B", Riverside Cemetery for $116.25
instead of $150.00 as originally listed be ratified and approved.

AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE STORAGE OF CALCIUM CARBIDE ,`ITHIN
THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS; REQUIRING A
PERITIT FOR KEEPING IN EXCESS OF ONE HUNDRED POUNDS; PROVIDING SPECIFI-
CALLY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND LOCATION OF STORAGE BUILDINGS; REQUIRING
REPORTS TO BE MADE TO THE FIRE MARSHALL, AND PRESCRIBING A PENALTY.

The City ;;tanager submitted the following optional contract
carrying out the proposal submitted by the '�-ichita Falls Airport Com-
pany on July 19th, 1928, with the request that it be ratified and
approved.

ThIS CONTRACT AND AGREETdENT made and entered into by and
between the ',,ICHITA FALLS AIRPORT COW:PAITY, INC., a Texas corporation,
acting by its president, C. ir. Cahoon, Jr., party of the first part,
and the CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, a municipal corporation acting
by its :ayor, J. W. Akin, party of the second part,-
LITNESSETH:
FIRST: The party of the first part, in accordance with the
terms of a certain written proposal submitted to the party of the
second part on the 19th day of July A. D. 1928, agreed to and does
hereby bargain, sell and grant to the party of the second part, an
option to purcnase a certain tract of land to be used as a park and
airport, situated in �iichita County, Texas, described as follows,
towit :
