The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
moved by Alderman King that the City ITanager be instructed
to inspect property at the corner of Avenue E and Polk Street and
make suggestion as to the proper manner of draining storm water from
this location.

Moved by Alderman King that the tax valuation for the year
1927 on the stock and fixtures of the Corner Drug Store at Tenth and
Lamar Streets be reduced from 43,500. to ti2,600. full value, and the
taxes on over valuation be remitted.

ORDINANCE NO. 991
AN ORDINANCE A!vMNDING PARAGRAPH (h) OF SECTION 38, AIID
SECTION 42, OF ORDINANCE NUMBER 958, PASSED AND APPROVED NOVEiIBER
28TH, 1927, ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE REGULATING TRAVEL AND TRAFFIC ON
THE STREETS OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS; REGULATING THE USE OF SUCH
STREETS; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN COIIFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING
PENALTIES."
i.:oved by Alderman King that Ordinance I,o. 991 be passed on
its second reading with the understanding that a clause be inserted
therein which would provide for emergency permits to be granted by
an official to be designated by the City Hanager to cover trucks
parked in the alleys on jobs calling for more time than two hours,
and that an emergency permit be granted for not more than one day.

vote:
Yeas: ,aldermen ring, Jones, Patton, Carter and Hunt.
Nays: None.
Bids, for a City Depository for the year beginning August lst,
1928, were opened and considered. It appearing that the Security
fiat ional Bank had submitted the highest and best bid, the following
motion was put in order:
Moved by Alderman Jones that the Security National Bank of
Wichita, Falls, Texas, be named as City Depository for the year beginning
August 1st, 1928, and ending July 31st, 1929, on their bid of 4.217o
interest to be paid on daily balances.
motion seconded by Alderman King and carried.
Bids for legal advertising were opened and considered.
:roved by Alderman zing that the bid of ?2 per column inch
submitted by the Wichita Falls Record News for lega advertising for
the year beginning August lst, 1928, and ending July 61st, 192�, be
accepted and said Wichita Falls Record News be named the offie al
newspaper of the City for the term of this contract.

oved by Aldermen Hunt that the names of Mayor J. ;V. Akin,
City Manager Geo. D. Fairtrace and Alderman A. W. King, be withdrawn
from the City Planning and zoning Commission at their request.

ACCOUNT NO. 11, SANITARY DEPARTMENT, TO ACCOUNT NO. 21, 'TRANSPORTATION
AND CO221UNICATION IN SAID DEPARTMENT.
VfliEREAS, certain saving has been made in the Salary and usages
Account of the Sanitary Department as provided in the budget for the
year beginning April 1st, 1928, and ending March 31st, 1929, and whereas;
there is needed in.the Transportation and Communication Account said
Sanitary Department, an additional sum of 4225.00;

SECTION I. That the sum o� ;�225.00 surplus in the Salary

be used for the purpose of transportation and communication.

OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING APRIL 1ST, 1926,
AND ENDING MARCH 31ST, 1929, AND DEC L1RIHG AN EMERGENCY.

for the purpose of submitting a bond issue for 41,400,000.00 for the
7D- purpose of improving and extending ,Iaterworks System and-250,000.00
for funding Street Improvement, Public Building and Floating Larrants
was carefully considered.

to draft an ordinance calling an election for the purpose of voting
bonds to fund 4;250,000 worth of floating warrants.

necessary action.
