The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in regular session on the above gate with the following members present: J.'a. Akin, aayor, J. H. Patton, Q Roy E. Carter, Q Ural Jones, Q Aldermen, J. W. Hunt, Q A. W. King, Q G. D. Fairtrace, City Lianager, W. E. McBroom, City Clerk, Thelbert martin, City Attorney. The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Lioved by :11derman Carter that the City Attorney be instructed to postpone filing suit for the collection of delinquent taxes against Lot 3, Block 98, Uriginal Townsite, until July ist, 1928. ,notion seconded by Alderman xing and carried. The hearing with reference to the application of B. H. Black for a permit to erect an ice manufacturing plant at 1307 rleventh street was called, and, after hearing protests and receiving a petition of protests signed by thirty-six property owners, the following motion was put in order: Moved by Alderman Patton that a permit oe refused 13. H. Black for the erecting and operating of said ice manufacturing plant at 1307 Eleventh Street. Motion seconded by Alderman Ding and carried. ,doveu by alderman zing that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare an ordinance closing a fifty (50) foot roadway, more partic- ularly described as follows: "A strip of land located in the City of �Achita r,alls, v,ichita County, Texas, out of the S.L.B. Jasper, the u. Leona, and the ;drs. E. Scurry headrights, being 50 feet in width, lying 25 feet on each side of the north and south headright line between the b.L.B. Jasper head - right on the east and the y. Leona and ,Lrs. Scurry headrights on the west, said strip is more particularly described as follows, to -wit: - Beginning at a point on the center line of main track of The 'oichita calls & Northwestern itailway Company of Texas at valuation chaining station 50 plus 79.4, 25 feet west, measured at right angles from the above described north and south headright line; thence north, parallel with and 25 feet distant west from said headright line, 10U1.0 feet, more or less to the north line of the Panhandle Refining Company property produces west; thence east 50 feet; thence south parallel with and 25 feet east of said headright line 1165.8 feet, more or less, to a point on center line of said main tract at valuation chaining station 49 plus U7.2; thence continuing south 68.8 feet to a point 20 feet dis- tant at right angles from said center line; thence northwesterly parallel with and 20 feet distant zrom said center line 172.2 feet; thence north 68.8 feet to point of beginning, containing 1.32 acres, more or less." 483 and the City Clerk be instructed to give notice of the intention or the Board or aldermen to close said koadway and a public nearing be ordered held for the purpose of hearing protests against the closing of said Roadway at 71160 P. ORDINANCE NO. 981 AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE VENDORS OF FRUITS AND VEGETABLES FROM SO DISPLAYING SUCH FRUITS AND VEGETABLES THAT SAME M&Y BE HANDLED BY CUSTOMERS AND PROSPECTIVE CUSTOMERS OF SUCH VENDORS; PROVIDING THAT SUCH FRUITS AND VEGETABLES SHALL ONLY BE HANDLED BY THE VENDOR, HIS AGENTS, SERVANTS OR EMPLOYEES, WHO ARE IN GOOD HEALTH AND FREE FROM CONTAGIOUS AND INFECTIOUS DISEASES, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. That the sale of indecent literature in the uity of Wichita ralls be prohibited by proper ordinance. 2. That a Board or Censors Tor Theaters be appointed who will worK in harmony with the local theater owners to the and that only decent, high class pictures and shows or the various rinds be allowed to exhibit in our city. 6. That the street walxer, bawdy house, assignation house and other institutions of ill Tame contaminating the morals or the youth or Wichita malls stop operating. 4. That the rolice Department and especially the plain clothes or detective department be assigned definitely to the task of stamping out the liquor traffic of our city and that every man on the police force of our city from the Chief down to night watchman help in this program by getting information and taxing part in raids. 5. That all liquor cases handled by the rolioe Department be filed in the r-ederal or State District Courts. Motion seconded oy Alderman Jones and carried. D. 1928 LEVYING AN OCCUPATION TAX ON ALL OCCUPATIONS TAXABLE UNDER THE LAVVIS OF THE STATE OF TEXAS AND THE CHARTER AND ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY.
