958, OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, PASSED AND AP2ROVED Oil NOV-
EP.BER 28TH, 1927, BEING ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE REGULATING TRAVEL
AND TRAFFIC UPON THE STREETS OF THE CITY OF W.ICHITA FALLS, TEXAS;
REGULATING THE USE OF SUCH STRLETS; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCE IN CON-

THE CITY OF WIGHITA FALLS ON JULY 26TH, 1926, WITH REGARD TO THE IIPROVE-t
AT, NT OF A PORTION OF NORTH FIFTH STREET FROM THE WEST CURB LINE OF GRAND
AVENUE TO THE'WEST CURB LINE OF BROOK AVENUE, IN SAID CITY, REMOVING THE
CLOUD CAST BY SAID ORDINANCE AGAINST PROPERTY ABUTTING UPON SAID STREET
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF WICHITA FALLS TO EXECUTE
A DEED CONVEYING TO WICHITA COUNTY, TEXAS, AN UNDIVIDED ONE-HALF INTEREST
IN THE PROPERTY, LAND AND PREMISES KNOWN AS THE "PEST HOUSE", LOCATED ON
THE POOR FARM BELONGING TO WICHITA COUNTY, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, on April 9th, 1917, the County of Wichita, in the
State of Texas, did by deed of that date transfer and convey to the City
of ,'ichita Falls, Texas, an undivided one-half interest in the following
described land and premises situated in Wichita County, Texas, to -wit:
Being a part of the Cherokee County School Land owned by
Wichita County, and where its Poor Farm is now situated, being the land
upon which is situated the aforesaid two buildings and equipment, and
more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows:
"BEGINNING at a point 57 feet ;;est and 406 feet South
of the Southwest corner of Block No. 12, Irrigation
Subdivisions of J. A. Scott Section No. 10;
THENCE South z77 feet, a corner;
THENCE West 50 feet, a corner;
THENCE North 197 feet, a corner;
THENCE West 146 feet, a corner;
THENCE North 80 feet, a corner;
THENCE East 198 feet to the place
of beginning, containing 59/100 of
and acre of land."
AND, '�,HEREAS, the said County and the said City have heretofore
erected and maintained upon said land certain buildings and equipment to
nouse and care for patients suffering from contagious diseases, and from
tuberculosis; and,
WHEREAS, the said County of '1�ichita has heretofore made certain
charges against the City of 'fiichita Falls, which said County claims is a
just charge and a proportionate part of the costs of operating and main-
taining said buildings as a hospital for contagious diseases and tuber-
culosis; and,
VIHEREAS, the City has denied liability and has refused to make
payment to Wichita County for said alleged expenses, and, whereas, Wichita
County, acting by its County Judge, and duly elected and qualified County
Commissioners, has agreed with the City of Wichita Falls, acting by its
Ivllayor and duly elected and qualified Board of Aldermen, to cancel said
pretended claims and to hereafter receive all patients suffering with
contagious diseases and also from tuberculosis, at the buildings above
mentioned on the above described land, as County patients and to take
care of such patients so delivered by the City of Wichita Falls, as its
own patients and without any charge to the said City of Viichita Falls,
Texas, upon consideration that the said City of Wichita Falls, Texas, by
duly executed deed convey to the said Viichita County, Texas, its undivided
one-half interest in the above described land, buildings and equipment,
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS: -
SECTION I. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby authorized to
execute and deliver to I7ichita County, Texas, proper deed conveying to
said Wichita County, Texas, the above described land and premises known
as the "Pest House", and located in what is generally known as the 'TPoor
Farm" of ';ichita County, Texas.
The consideration for such deed to be recited as the cancella-
tion of any and all claims against the City of I.ichita Falls for the
operation and maintenance of said Pest House, land and premises, and also
the further consideration that said Wichita County, Texas, do receive and
care for all patients delivered to said Pest House by the City of Wichita
Falls, Texas, without expense or charge against the said City of ';;ichita
Falls.

ti'�HEREAS, no appropriation has been made for the operation of
the City Government for the fiscal year beginning ,`,pril 1st, 1928, and
ending March 31st, 1929, and it is necessary that certain emergency ex-
penses be paid prior to the approval of the annual budget and passage
of an annual appropriation ordinance,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of

to sign an agreement with the Cast Iron Consumers Committee on ways
and means whereby the City will pay 5o of its saving on freight cover-
ing cast iron pipe shipments;to said committee for the purpose of ,.
carrying on the fight against a raise in the freight rate on cast
iron pipe.

ratified and approved.

It was agreed to offer Kress & Company a monthly lease con-
tract on the rear 60 feet of the building at 820 Ohio Avenue for a
consideration of �50.00 _er month.
There being no further business to come before the Board,
the Mayor declared the meeting adjourned.
