ORDINANCE NO. 977 AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING ANY PERSON FROM ShATI11G ON ROLLER ShATES OR PLAYING ANY GATE UPON THE STREETS AND ALLEYS OF THE CITY OF 6;ICHITA FALLS, TEXAS; PROVIDING A PENALTY AND CREATING AN EMERGENCY. Moved by Alderman Jones that Ordinance No. 977 be passed on its first reading. Motion seconded by Alderman Patton and carried by the fol- lowing vote: Yeas: Aldermen Jones, Patton, Carter and Hunt. Nays: None. Moved by Alderman Hunt that the Board decline to issue a permit to the Byers Brothers Show for a Carnival to be operated at the Baseball grounds May 14th to 19th, 1928. motion seconded by „lderman Jones and carried by the fol- lowing vote: Yeas: Aldermen Hunt, Jones, Carter, Patton. Nays: None. Moved, by Alderman Carter that the taxable value on Lots 1 and 2 and one-half of 3 in Block 1, Boyd No. 1 Addition, be reduced for the years 1925 and 1926 from ;�41,460 to �27,660, and for the year 1927 from �37,460 to w27,660 on account of over valuation, and the taxes, penalties interest and costs on over assessment be remitted. Motion seconded by Alderman Jones and carried. Moved by Alderman Patton that the taxes on the Superior Shoe Shop for the year 1926 be remitted conditioned on the owner, T. J. Mallouf, executing an affidavit to the effect that the property was not on hand on January lst, 1926. Motion seconded by alderman Carter and carried. ORDINANCE NO. 976 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING PARAGRAPH (a) OF SECTION .)6, OF ORDINANCE NO. 958, OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, PASSED AND APPROVED ON NOVEMB-ER 28TH, 1927, BEING ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE REGUI,�,TING TRAVEL AND TRAFFIC UPON THE STREETS OF THE CITY OF 4vICHITA FALLS, TEXAS; REGULATING THE USE OF SUCH STREETS; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING PENALTIES". hoved by Alderman Carter that Ordinance No. 976 be passed on its first reading. Motion seconded by Alderman Hunt and carried by the following vote: Yeas: Aldermen Carter, Hunt, Patton and Jones. Nays: None. Moved by Alderman Carter that the Mayor appoint a committee to investigate the application of J. L. marney for a permit to construct a gasoline filling station at 600 Virginia Street, 4nd that said com- mittee be authorized to act. Motion seconded by Alderman Patton and carried. The Mayor then appointed Aldermen Hunt and Carter, City Manager Fairtrace and City Engineer Rugeley as a committee to act on this application. Moved by Alderman Jones that the Mayor be authorized to ap- point a committee to investigate the application of IT. J. McDonald for a gasoline filling station at 606 Lee Street with authority to act. Motion seconded by Alderman Carter and carried. The Mayor then appointed the same committee to act on this application as that of J. L. Miarney. Moved by Alderman Patton that the bond of the American Bonding Company of Baltimore, Md., in the amount of Y20,000 on behalf of G. D. Fairtrace, City Manager, be approved. I,loved by .alderman Jones that the expense account of Thelbert martin in the amount of $21.36 covering his trip to Waco May 4th and 5th to attenda Conference of Texas City Attorneys be approved and 8J.- lowed. Motion seconded by Alderman Carter and carried. Moved by Alderman Carter that the E. L. Nichols Band of Burk- burnett be allowed use of the Auditorium without charge for a free con- cert to be held under the auspices of the Wichita Falls Park System on the afternoon of May 13th. Motion seconded by Alderman Jones and carried. ORDINANCE NO. 975 a:N ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE DISTRIBUTION AND SCATTERING OF PRINTED CIRCULARS AND ADVERTISEMENTS OF EVERY NATURE UPON THE STREETS, ALLEYS, AND IN VEHICLES PARKED UPON SUCH STREETS AND ALLEYS, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. 11oved by Alderman Carter that Ordinance No. 975 be passed on its third and final reading and be adopted as read. Motion seconded by Alderman Patton and carried by the fol- lowing vote: Yeas: Aldermen Carter, Patton, Hunt and Jones,. Nays: None. ORDINANCE NO. 978 REPEALING ORDINANCE NUMBER 798. AN ORDINANCE REPEALING THE ORDINANCE PASSED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERPSEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS ON UULY 26TH, 1926, WITH REGARD TO THE IITROVMIENT OF A PORTION OF NORTH FIFTH STREET FROM THE WEST CURB LINE OF GRAND AVENUE TO THE ICIEST CURB LINE OF BROOK AVENUE IN SAID CITY, RE11OVING THE CLOUD CAST BY SAID ORDINANCE AGAINST PROPERTY ABUTTING UPON SAID STREET AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
