The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in regular session on the above date with the following members present: J. ti4. Akin, P;Tayor, Roy E. Carter, Q A. W. King, Q J. H. Patton, Q Aldermen, J. W. Hunt, Q oral Jones, Q E. McBroom, City Clerk, Thelbert Martin, City Attorney. The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. T,4oved by Alderman Patton that George D. Fairtruce be appointed City Manager effective May 1st, 19z8. vote: notion seconded by Alderman Carter and carried by the following Yeas: Aldermen Patton, Carter, Hunt, King and Jones. Nays: None. Alderman King requested that he be excused from further at- tendance at the meeting on account of sickness in his family. His request was granted. Moved by Alderman Hunt that Pugs. Rena Goodwin be granted a permit to construct a business building to be used as a Cold Drink Stand at 1612 North Sixth Street. motion seconded by Alderman Carter and carried. Moved by Alderman Hunt that Fire Chief McClure be authorized to grant a permit to Gene Segall for the installation of two gasoline storage tanks under the sidewalk at Eighth & Travis Streets. Motion seconded by Alderman Jones and carried. Moved by Alderman Patton that the City Engineer, Building Inspector and Fire Chief be instructed to investigate the application of Wylie 'a"iyatt for a permit to ada four additional stories to his hotel building located at the corner of Seventh and Ohio Avenues for the purpose of ascertaining whether or not the present walls and foundation .;ill carry the additional load. Franks be granted 60 days adaitional time to pay taxes on Lot B, Block Id, Original Townsite, for the years 1925 and 1926, amounting to 4104.00. L4otion seconded by Alderman Patton and carried. --1 Moved by Alderman Carter that the Tax Collector be authorized to cancel taxes assessed against the South 40 ft. of Lot 2 and the North 10 ft. of Lot 3, Block 125, Original,, if it is found that this property was owned by the Lamar Avenue Baptist Church at the time the taxes -� were assessed, also taxes assessed against Lots 12 and 16, Block 176, Original, if it is found that this property was owned by the Wichita Falls Day Nursery at the time the taxes were assessed. e Motion seconded by Alderman Jones and carried. 1foved by Alderman Hunt that the meeting be adjourned.
