The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in
regular session on the above date with the following members present:

The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
T,4oved by Alderman Patton that George D. Fairtruce be appointed
City Manager effective May 1st, 19z8.

Nays: None.
Alderman King requested that he be excused from further at-
tendance at the meeting on account of sickness in his family.
His request was granted.
Moved by Alderman Hunt that Pugs. Rena Goodwin be granted a
permit to construct a business building to be used as a Cold Drink
Stand at 1612 North Sixth Street.

Moved by Alderman Hunt that Fire Chief McClure be authorized
to grant a permit to Gene Segall for the installation of two gasoline
storage tanks under the sidewalk at Eighth & Travis Streets.
Motion seconded by Alderman Jones and carried.
Moved by Alderman Patton that the City Engineer, Building
Inspector and Fire Chief be instructed to investigate the application
of Wylie 'a"iyatt for a permit to ada four additional stories to his
hotel building located at the corner of Seventh and Ohio Avenues for
the purpose of ascertaining whether or not the present walls and
foundation .;ill carry the additional load.

AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE DIST-IBUTION AND SCATTERING OF PRINTED
CIRCULARS AND ADVERTISEMENTS OF EVERY MATURE UPON THE STREETS, ALLEYS,
AND IN VEHICLES PARKED UPON SUCH STREETS AND ALLEYS, AND PROVIDING A
PENALTY.

on its first reading.

to attend the Conference of City Attorneys at ',,aco on Iiay 4th and 5th
for the purpose of discussing a plan for the adoption of uniform
ordinances and amendments by Texas cities.

Company be permitted to withdraw their application for an increase

Electric Company in the amount of $466.85 for material furnished in
connection with his contract for wiring the basement of the Auditorium
be disallowed and he be instructed to complete the wiring job and re-
ceive the contract price of .,60O.J0.

to purchase a set of dies at a cost of �60.OU to be used in standardizing
fire hose couplings.

Akin and Alderman Jones in the amount of �94.00 covering traveling ex-
penses to Dallas, taco and Austin in connection with the selection of
a City Manager be approved and allowed.

Fairtrace be fixed at ti?10,000, per annum, effective May 1st, 1928,
or when he reports for duty.

write Adam Johnson, City Manager of :.ustin, a letter requesting him
to file his expense account covering his trip to „"ichita Falls at the

days adaitional time to pay taxes on Lot B, Block Id, Original Townsite,
for the years 1925 and 1926, amounting to 4104.00.

Moved by Alderman Carter that the Tax Collector be authorized
to cancel taxes assessed against the South 40 ft. of Lot 2 and the North
10 ft. of Lot 3, Block 125, Original,, if it is found that this property
was owned by the Lamar Avenue Baptist Church at the time the taxes -�
were assessed, also taxes assessed against Lots 12 and 16, Block 176,
Original, if it is found that this property was owned by the Wichita
Falls Day Nursery at the time the taxes were assessed.
