The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in
regular session on the above date with the following members present:
R. E. Shepherd, Mayor,
Oral Jones, Q
J. W. Hunt, Q
P. B. Curd, Q Aldermen,
Roy E. Carter, Q
W. E. McBroom, City Clerk,
Thelbert Martin, City Attorney.
The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Moved by Alderman Curd that E. E. Osman be granted a permit
to install a curb gasoline pump on the Broad Street side of the corner
of Eighth and Broad, provided that said E. E. Osman shall hold the
City of Wichita Falls harmless from any damage that may arise from
the operation of said curb gasoline pump and that said pump will be
removed by said E. E. Osman at any time it is so ordered by the Board
of Aldermen.
Motion seconded by Alderman Hunt and carried.
ORDINANCE NO. 968
AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING THAT PORTION OF FIFTEENTH STREET
LYING BETWEEN THE EAST LINE OF SCOTT AVENUE AND THE WICHITA VALLEY
RAIL'VAY IN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS.

OF WICHITA FALLS ON THE TENTH DAY OF JANUARY, A. D. 1921, BEING AN
ORDINANCE CREATING THE EXAMINING AND SUPERVISING BOARD OF PLUTaERS,
DESIGNATING THE MEMBERS THEREOF, PRESCRIBING THEIR POWERS AND DUTIES
AND TERM OF OFFICE; PROVIDING FOR LICENSING OF PLU11BERS, ETC., AND
REGULATING PLUI0ING WORK.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 900 ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE MAKING
APPROPRIATION FOR THE SUPPORT OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR BEGINNING APRIL 1ST, 1927, AND ENDING MARCH 31ST, 1928, AND DE-
CLARING AN EMERGENCY; PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF
THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS ON THE "2ND DAY OF MAY, 1927."

Moved by Alderman Curd that the City Clerk be instructed to
transfer w420.00 from the Emergency Appropriation to the Police Depart-
ment Appropriation to cover raise in salaries allowed Policemen.
Motion seconded by Alderman Jones and carried.
Moved by Alderman Curd that the estimate of the Hamilton
Company, Plumbing and Heating Contractors on the Auditorium, in the
amount of 48,372.00 be approved and allowed.
Motion seconded by Alderman Carter and carried.
I.4oved by Alderman Jones that the Heads of the different de-
partments of the City be instructed to take inventory of all properties
in their charge ab of April 1st, 1928. Said inventory to be segregated
into the following headings and to be taken at cost less depreciation:

Structures Real Estate to Real Estate Supplies Total

Moved by Alderman Curd that the Mayor be authorized to issue
a deed to kate 'i;ord Jones conveying to her lot No. 117, Block M, River-
side Cemetery, upon her affidavit and further evidence of ownership on
file in the City Clerk's office.
Motion seconded by Alderman Carter and carried.

Moved by Alderman Carter that the expense account of
C. C. Bunnenberg, Park Superintendent, on trip to Dallas and Cisco
to inspect the zoos in these cities in the amount of .�18.75 be ap-
proved and allowed.
Motion seconded by Alderman Hunt and carried.
Moved by Alderman Curd that the Mayor be authorized to
execute notes payable to Tars. C. tgomery in the amount of 41,842.94
to cover reimbursement of cost o *ins constructed by Mrs. Montgomery
under contracts dated December 16th, 1925, and October 8th, 1925, as
follows:
1 Note in the amount of �p921.47 due in 60 days
1 Note in the amount of �921.47 due in 120 days
Both bearing interest at the rate of 6jo per annum.

Moved by Alderman Curd that Fire Chief McClure be authorized
to attend the Southwest Fire Chiefs' Convention at Texarkana on March
l5th, 16th and 17th, with expenses paid by the City.
Motion seconded by Alderman Carter and carried.
Moved by Alderman Hunt that the report of the Commission in-
vestigating the J. E. Brown personal injury case be accepted and the
committee be discharged with the thanks of the Council.
Motion seconded by Alderman Curd and carried.
Moved by A,�derman Hunt that the Mayor and City Clerk be in-
structed to addressA4 etter to J. L. McClure, Fire Chief, expressing
the appreciation of the Council for the increase of :5V in the Good
Fire REcord credit for the year beginning March lst, 1928, earned by
the Fire Department.
Motion seconded by Alderman Jones and carried.
Moved by Alderman Jones that the meeting be adjourned.
