The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in
regular session on the above date with the following members present:

The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and aiproved.
Moved by _',lderman Curd that the Palm -Olive Company be permitted
to sell their products thru the local merchants and a house to house cam-
paign during the period March lst to 16ay 1st, 1928.

J. M. Johnson & Company in the amount of 4857.00 covering electrical
work on the Aemorial Auditorium be approved and allowed.

steel tank constructed by the Pittsburgh-DeTltoines Steel Company be
accepted and the final estimate covering construction cost in the

& 1:ard, Consulting Engineers, be paid the sum of $1,716.04 for bal-
ance due on engineering fees covering construction of the 500,000
gallon elevated steel tank by the Pittsburgh -De Moines Steel Oompany.

RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY TREASURER AND CITY CLERK
TO GIVE WRITTEN NOTICE OF REDEMPTION OF CERTAIN BONDS OUTSTANDING _�GAI=1ST
THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS.
WHEREAS, the following bonds of the City of Wichita Falls,
Texas, have been heretofore issued and are now outstanding obligations of
said City:
(a) CITY OF WICHITA FALLS STREET IMPROVEMEENT BONDS; dated
April 10, 1910; due forty years from their date, but redeemable at the
option of the City at any time after ten years from their date; bearing
5� interest; being for the total principal sum of 4 17,500.00, and of
which amount there is now outstanding and unpaid the sum of �3,500.00;
both principal and interest being payable at the office of the City
Treasurer, in Wichita Falls, Texas; being Bond Numbers 29 to 35, in-
clusive;
(b) CITY O!' WICHITA FALLS STREET IIJIPROVEMENT BONDS; dated
November 15, 1912; due forty years from their date, but redeemable at
the option of the City at any interest paying period after ten years
from their date; bearing b�o interest; being for the total principal
sum of w12,000.00, and of which amount there is now outstanding and
unpaid the sum of y3,000.00; both principal and interest being payable
at Austin, Texas, or New York, N. Y.; being Bond Numbers 19 to 24, in-
clusive;
(c) CITY OF WICHITA FALLS STREET IITROVEIv1ENT BONDS; dated
June-1, 1916; due forty years from their date, but redeemable at the
option of the City at any time after ten years from their date; bearing
5$ interest; being for the total principal sum of �40,000.00, and of
which amount there is now outstanding and unpaid the sum of V22,000.00;
both principal and interest being payable at New York City, New York,
or Austin, Texas; being Bond Numbers 15 to 20, inclusive; 25 to 30,
inclusive; 39 to 56, inclusive; 63 to 73, inclusive; and 80.
(d) CIT'f OF WICHITA FALLS, TPUS, SE4;ERAGE BONDS; dated
January 1, 1908; due forty years from their date, but redeemable at
the option of the City at any time after ten years from their date;
bearing 57o interest; being for the total principal sum of 024,000.00,
and of which amount there is now outstanding and unpaid the sum of
2,500.00; both principal and interest being payable at the Office of
the State Treasurer; being Bond Numbers 44 to 48, inclusive;
(e) CITY OF WICHITA FALLS SEWER BONDS; dated November 15,
1912; due forty years from their date, but redeemable at the option
of the City at any interest paying period after ten years from their
date; bearing 5% interest; being for the total principal sum of
Y10,000.00, and of which amount there is now outstanding and unpaid
the sum of u2,500.00; both principal and interest being payable at

inclusive;
(f) CITY OF WICHITA FALLS FIRE STATION BONDS; dated August
15, 1914; due forty years from their date, but redeemable at the
option of the City at any time after ten years from their date; bearing
5% interest; being for the total principal sum of 47,500.00, "d of
which amount there is now outstanding and unpaid the sum of 4),500.00;
both principal and interest being payable at New York City, New York,
and Austin, Texas; being Bond Numbers 9 to 15, inclusive;
(g) CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, JOINT COUNTY AND HOSPITAL BONDS;
dated may 1, 1914; due forty years from their date, but redeemable at
the option of the City at any time after fifteen years from their date;
bearing 51,"o interest; being for the total principal sum of 425,000.00,
and of which amount there is now outstanding and unpaid the sum of
$6,000.00; both principal and interest being payable at Chicago, Ill.,
and Austin, Texas; being Bond Numbers 19 to 30, inclusive;
(h) CITY OF WICHITA FALLS PARK BONDS; dated _,uLust 15th,
1914, due forty years from their date, but redeemable at the option
of the City at any time after ten years from their date; bearing 5%

Austin, Texas; being Bond Numbers 15 to 31, inclusive; 33 to 35, in-
clusive; and,
.-- (i) CITY Or WICHITA FALLS PUBLIC CEATETERY BONDS; dated
December 1, 1916; redeemable before maturity at any time after Decem-
ber 1, 1926; bearing 5% interest; being for the total principal sum
of ;15,000.00, and of which amount there is now outstanding and un-
paid the sum of 1.8,000.00; both principal and interest being payable
at the Office of the City Treasurer, Wichita Falls, Texas, or at the
Hanover National rank, New York, New York, at the option of the holder;
being Bond Numbers 15 to 30, inclusive.
rND WHEREAS, each of the aforesaid bonds contains recitals
and provisions to the effect that in the event the City should under-
take to exercise its option of redemption, notice of such option
should be given in writing by the City; and,
;7HEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls,
Texas, now deems it necessary and advisable to redeem the bonds here-
inabove described; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
I.
That the 15th day of I.1ay, 1928, is hereby fixed as tree date
of redemption of said Wichita Falls Street Bonds, dated November 15,
1912, amount outstanding THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS (43,000.00).
II.
That the 15th day of I.Iay, 1928, is hereby fixed as the date
of redemption of City of ';ichita Falls Sewer Bonds, dated November 15,
1912, and of which series TWO THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS (,�u,500.00)
is now outstanding.
III.
That the 15th day of February, 1928, is hereby fixed as the
date of redemption of City of Wichita Falls Fire Station Bonds, dated
P:ugust 15, 1914, and of which series THREE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOL-
LARS ($;�,500.00) is now outstanding.
IV.
That the 15th day of February, 1928, is hereby fixed as the
date of redemption of City of '„ichita Falls Park Bonds, dated August
lb, 1914, and of which series TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS (410,000.00) is
now outstanding.
V.
That the lst day of June, 1928, is hereby fixed a.s the date
of redemption of City of Wichita Falls Street Improvement Bonds, dated
June 1, 1916, and of which series niENTY TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS (,�22,000.00)
is now outstanding.
VI.
That the loth day of _:pril, 19u8, is the date hereby fixed
for redeeming all other bonds hereinabove described.
VII.
That the City Treasurer and the City Clerk of the City of
Wichita Falls, Texas, are hereby authorized, ordered and directed to
jointly issue and execute proper notice in writing in conformity with
the proceedings authorizing the issuance of each of the series of out-
standing bonds, to the effect that the City of Wichita Falls has called
in for redemption the outstanding bonds of each series, and which said
outstanding bonds are hereinabove described; and which said notice shall
be substantially as follows, to -wit:

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Wichita Falls, Texas,
by resolution duly adopted by its Board of „ldermen, on the 13th day of
February, 1928, of record in Book , page et seq., of the
Minutes of said Hoard, has called in�or redem�on the following
series of bonds:
(Here insert description of bonds as described in
the resolution).
THAT T=_E DATE fixed in said resolution for redeeming said
bonds is the day of , 1928, and you are hereby,
notified that nihe event said bonds, or any of them, are not then
presented for redemption, they shall cease to bear interest from and
after the date so fixed for their redemption.
THIS NOTICE is issued and given pursuant to the aforesaid
resolution of the Board of :`.ldermen, and in accordance with recitals
and provisions in each bond of the series hereinabove described.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED ANZ ORDERED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
The fact that it is to the best interest of the City that the
bonds hereinabove described be redeemed at the earliest possible date,
create an emergency and it is therefore ordered that any rule requiring
resolutions and orders to be read at more than one meeting of the Board
shall be, and the same is hereby, suspended, and that this resolution
shall become effective immediately from and after its passage and
approval.

City of W. M. McGregor, J.'r,. Lyle be appointed as a member of the
Commission to hear evidence in the Mary Brown death claim in accord-
ance with the provisions of Section 139 of the City Charter.
