The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in regular session on the above date with the following members present: R. E. Shepherd, Mayor, Oral Jones, Q J. W. Hunt, Q A. W. King, Q Aldermen, P. B. Curd, Q Roy E. Carter, Q W. E. McBroom, City Clerk, Thelbert Martin, City Attorney. The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Moved by Alderman Jones that J. T. Young be granted a permit to install and operate a gasoline tank and pump at 3005 Avenue H, pro- vided said J. T. Young, his successors and assigns, shall hold the City of Wichita Falls harmless from any damages that may arise from the operation of said gasoline tank and pump, and that said gasoline tank and pump shall be removed at any time it is so ordered by the Board of hldermen. !'`otion seconded by alderman Hunt and carried. Moved by Alderman Jones that the Building Inspector be authorized to issue a building permit to Dave Shepherd for the con- struction of a business building at 1300 Clark Street. Motion seconded by Alderman Hunt and carried. lioved by alderman Curd that the City Clerk be authorized and instructed to issue warrant to Mrs. Ida Callahan for 450.00 to cover her interest in the West half of Lot No. 576, Block G, Riverside Cemetery. Motion seconded by alderman Jones and carried. iloved by Alderman Jones that the petition with reference to improvements in Riverside Cemetery be referred to Commissioner King. Motion seconded by Alderman Curd and carried. Moved by Alderman Curd that the proposed revocation of the Call Field Subdivision to the City of Wichita Falls heretofore ap- proved by the Board of Aldermen on the 17th day of May 1926 be ac- cepted and approved. Curtis, have revoked and by these presents do revoke, recall and make void a certain instrument executed by me on the first day of May, A. D. 1926, wherein I adopted a plat covering the land hereinafter described and designated such land as the Call Field Subdivision to the city of Wichita Falls, Texas, which instrument and plat are recorded in Volume 266, page 98 of the Deed Records of Wichita County, Texas, which land is described as follows: "Being a 13.69 acre tract of land out of Blocks Numbers 214, 215, 224, 225, 240 and 241, of the Highland Irrigation Subdivision ac- cording to the recorded map or plat thereof of record in plat Record 1, page 23, Plat Records of Viichita County, Texas, and said 13.69 acre tract is described by metes and bounds as follows: Beginning at a stake 150.5 feet South and 177.4 feet East of the Northwest corner of Block Number 240 Highland Irrigation Sub- division, and which stake is also 150.5 feet South and 142 feet West from the Northeast corner of Block 14, League 1, Denton County School land; thence East parallel with and 150.5 feet South from the North line of Block 13, League 1, Denton County School Lands and of Day Land and Cattle Company Survey, 1445 feet a stake; thence South 427.1 feet a stake in North line of road; thence in a Westerly direction with North line of said road about 1450 feet to Southeast corner of 1.50 acre tract sold to Henry J. Stout; Thence North with East line of said tract 378.3 feet to the place of beginning, containing 13.69 acres of land. Above 13.69 acre tract being laid out partly on the 119.2 acre tract of Day Land and Cattle Company Survey, Abstract 619, and partly on the 100 acre tract out of Blocks Nos. 13 and 14, League 1, Denton County School Land Survey." I am the owner of all of the above described land. No part of same has been sold or assigned to any other party or parties and said plat and subdivision are hereby revoked and held for naught. RESOLUTION DECLARING THE NECESSITY OF IMPROVING LOT 13, BLOCK A, CARTER ADDITION TO THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS AND ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF 24TH STREET, IN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, STATING THE NATURE OF SUCH IMPROVEMENT AND 1HE METHOD BY WHICH IT IS PROPOSED THAT PAYMENT BE MADE THEREFOR, AND DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO HAVE PLANS, PROFILES, SPECIFICATIONS AND ESTI1UTES OF THE PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS PREPARED: !1f ip, Wichita Falls, 'Texas. RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ADOPTING PLANS, PROFILES, SPECIFICATIONS AND ESTIMATES OF THE PROPOSED IMPROVE- "r1ENT OF LOT 13, BLOCK A, CARTER ADDITION TO THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS AND ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF 24TH STREET, IN THE CITY OF 'ICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE FOR COMPETITIVE BIDS FOR THE MAKING AND CONSTRUCTING OF SUCH IMPROVEMENTS. Moved by Alderman Jones that the Mayor be authorized to execute a note to the Leopold Desk Company for �394.50 to cover pur- chase of 7 desks for the Tax, Park and Building Manager's offices. Said note to be due in one year and to bear interest at the rate of 6%o per annum. Motion seconded by Alderman Carter and carried. MZoved by Alderman Carter that the Police Department be authorized to offer a reward of $25.OU for the arrest and conviction of each and every person arrested or mutilating or destroying a traffic stop signal or signals placed on the streets by the Police officers. Motion seconded by Alderman Jones and carried. Moved by Alderman Hunt that action on bids for furnishing window blinds for the Auditorium building be deferred until 5:00 P. M. January 17th, 1928. Notion seconded by Alderman Carter and carried. Moved by Alderman �,ing that the Sewer Department be authorized to construct a sewer extension to serve houses located at 401 and 403 Oriole Street at an approximate cost of 478.00. Motion seconded by Alderman Hunt and carried. Moved by Alderman Hunt that the meeting be adjourned. Motion seconded by Alderman Curd and carried. The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
