The Board of Aldermen 'of the City of Wichita Falls met in
regular session on the above date with the following members present:

W. E. McBroom, City Clerk,
Thelbert Martin, City Attorney,
The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Moved by Alderman Hunt that G. L. Allen be granted a permit
to install and operate a gasoline pump at 1914 Polk Street in accord-
ance with his application of August 13th, 1929.

ORDINANCE NO 1027
AN ORDINANCE MAKING IT UNLAWFUL FOR ANY PERSON OR PERSONS
IN A PUBLIC PLACE OF BUSINESS TO MAKE OR CAUSE TO BE MADE ANY LOUD
NOISE WHETRER MUSIC, TALKING, SINGING, OR OTHERWISE, BY ANY MEANS
WHATEV , WHETHFR BY THE USE OF RADIO, RADIOS, PHONOGRAPH, 1MSICAL
INSTRUMENTS, OR OTHERWISE, WHICH IS CALCULATED TO, OR DOES, DISTURB
OTHERS IN THE VICINITY OF SUCH PUBLIC PLACE CF BUSINESS, PRESCRIB-
ING A PENALTY, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY*
Moved by Alderman Hunt that Ordinance No. 1027 be passed
on its third and final reading and be adopted as read.
Motion seconded by Alderman Patton and carried by the

Yeas: Aldermen Hunt and Patton and Spoonts.
Nays: None.
Moved by Alderman Patton that the City Manager be author-
ized to execute contracts between the City and Mrs. R. E . Montgomery
and James T. Gant and Gerald W. Pond for the purchase of approximately
10,000 cubic yards of dirt to be used in the construction of an ap-
proach to the bridge across the Wichita River on Scott Avenu ; ,A Con-
sideration of five (50) cents per cu. yd.
Motion seconded by Alder man Hunt and carried,

Moved by Alderman Hunt that the City Clerk be instructed to
advertise for bids for contract to construct an approach to the Scott
Street Bridge in accordance with plans and specifications presented by
the City Manager and approved. Said bids to be received until 7 : 30 P. M.
September 2n d, 1929,
Motion seconded by Alderman Spoonts and carried.
ORDINANCE NO 1028
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE HOLDING OF AN ELECTION IN THE
CITY" OF WI CHITA FALLS, TEXAS, FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE QUALI-
FIED VOTERS OF SAID CITY, WHO ARE PROPERTY TAX PAYERS THEREIN A PROPOSI-
TION FOR THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS OF SAID CITY IN THE AMOUNT OF 61t4009000000
FOR THE PURPOSE OF RAISING FUNDS TO CONSTRUCT IMPROV EIJENTS AND EXTENSIONS
TO THE PRESENT SYSTEM OF WATERWORKS TO PRO VIDE AN ADEQUATE AND AVAILABLE
WATER SUPPLY AND PLANT F 0 R SAID CITY, AND LEVYING A TAX ON ALL TAXABLE
PROPERTY IN SAID CITY TO PAY THE PRINCIPAL AND INTEREST OF SAID BONDS,
AND DECLARING AN EMMGENCY.
Moved by Alderman Hunt that Ordinance No. 1028 be passed on its
second reading.
