The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
O RD INANCE NO.10 25
AN ORDINANCE MAKING AN ADDI TI ON.AL APPROPRIATION OUT OF THE
UNAPPROPRIATED BALANCE OF CITY REVENUES AT APRI L 1ST, 1929, FOR THE
PURPOSE OF MAINTAI NI M AID OPERATI IG THE CITY GOVERNMENT FOR THE F IS --
CAL YEAR BEGINNING AIRI L 1ST, 1929, AND END III MARCH 31ST, 1930, AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
Moved by Alderman McCutchen that Ordinance No. 1025 be
passed on its second reading.
Motion seconded by Alderman Hunt and c arri ed by the f ollow -
ing vote:
Yeas: Aldermen McCutchen, Hunt, Spoonts, Patton and Harvey.
Nays,* None,
Moved by Alderman Hunt that the rules requiring ordinances
to be passed on three separate days be suspended and an emergency de-
clared.
Motion seconded by Alderman McCutchen and carried by the
following vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Hunt, McCutchen, Patton, Harvey and Spoonts.
Nays: None.
Moved by Alderman Hunt that Ordinance No. 1025 be passed on
its third and f inal r eadi ng and be adopted as read.
Motion seconded by Alderman McCutchen and carried by the
following vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Hunt, McCutchen, Harvey, Spoonts and Patton.

of the Board of Aldermen,
Mr,t i on seconded by Alderman Harvey and carried,
Moved by Alderman Hunt that the application of L, P, Hammond
for a permit to construct and operate a gasoline filling station on Lot
12, Block 261, Original Townsite, being located at the corner of Tenth
and Brook Streets, be received and a public hearing be held at' 7:30 P. Me
July 29th, 1929, for the purpose of hearing protests,
Motion seconded by Ald er man Patton and carried,
Moved by Alder -man Harvey that E, We Nicholson, Attorney for
Wei. Swartz, et al, be furnished a copy of the report cP the City Manager
and employees of the Water Department in connection with the alleged
damage to a water heater owned by said We We Swartz, et al,
Motion seconded by Alderman Hunt and carried,
Moved by Alderman Harvey that the claim of W, W, Swartz, et al,
for $100.60 covering alleged damage to water heater be rejected,
Motion seconded by Alderman Patton and carried,
Moved by Alderman Harvey that pursuant to a request of the
property owners on Ohio Avenue the Board of Equalization be asked to meet
with the Board of Aldermen for the purpose of reviewing the tax values
for the year 1929 placed on the property located on Ohio Avenue between
Sixth and Ninth Streets,
Motion seconded by Alderman Spoonts ard carried,
Moved by Alderman Hunt that the City Attorney be authorized and
instructed to file suit against G, A, Swope for the collection of paving
certificate owned by the Street Department against his property at the
corner of Seventh and Burnett Streets, also to file suit against the
Texas Loan and Mortgage Company for the collection of a note in the prin-
cipal sum of $106.00 covering improvement of a lot owned by said Mortgage
Comp any ,
Motion seconded by Alderman McCutch en and carried.
Moved by Alderman Hunt that the meeting be adjourned.
