The Board of Aldermen of the City of I'i ch ita Falls met in regular session on the above date with the following members present: J. W. Akin, I'ayor, , R. 0. Harvey, J. W. Hunt , J. M. Spoonts, Ald ermen , J. H. Patton, G. D. Fairtrace, City Manager, W. E. McT) room, City Clerk, Thelbert Martin, City Attorney, The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Moved by Ald er man Spoonts that the Equalization Board be re- quested to set the same value for city tax purposes on the Womans Forum Building for 1929 as was used for the year 1928, Motion seconded by Alderman Hunt and carried. Moved by Ald ermen Hunt that the amended plat and rededication of the J. G. Lane Subdivision of Blocks 5 and 6, J. A. Scott Survey ITo. 13, be approved. Motion seconded by Alderman Spoonts and carried. Moved by Alderman Harvey that the request of Lynn A. Boyd with reference to the City taking over private water lines built by him in the Hillcrest Addition be referred to the City Manager. Motion seconded by Alderman Spoonts and carried, Moved by Alderman Hunt that the paving ma int ena roc a matter at Avenue K and Bell Street complained of by M. W. McGinnis be referred to the City Manager, Motion seconded by Alderman Harvey aril carried. Moved by Alderman Hunt, that the Mayor and City Manager go to Austin to present the claim of the City to the Fire Insurance Commission for a lower fire insurance rate on munic ipa� buildings. Motion seconded by Alderman Spoonts and carried, Moved by Alderman Hunt that the fo llavv ing resolution be adopted. RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION CLOSING, VACATING AISD kl ANDONING THE ALLEY IN BLOCK 76 OF THE SOUTHL•AND ADDITION TO THE CITY OF W ICHITA FALLS, WICHITA COUNTY, TEXAS. WHEREAS, all the owners of property in Block Seventy-six (76) of the Southland Addition to the City of Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas Is have agreed that the alley through said Block beginning at Harrison Street and running to Railroad Avenue be closed, vacated and abandoned, AND, WBEREAS, after an investigation by the Board of Aldermen, it is deemed for the best. interest of all concerned that said alley be closed and vacated, and that the rights of the public will not be affected thereby; NOW, THE REFO HE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF AID ERMEN OF THE CITY OF W I CHITA. FALLS, TEXAS: SECTION 1: That the certain alley in Block 76 of the Southland Addition to the City of Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, running from Harrison Street to Railroad Avenue, be, and the same is hereby closed, vacated and abandoned. SECTION 2: That the Mayor of the City ccP' Wichita Falls, Texas, is hereby authorized to execute to V.I. F. weeks, R. E. Huff, Jr, Wm,, E. Huff, and A. B. Huff , ( they be ing the ouner s of al 1 t he property in s aid lock No. 76 Southland Addition( quitc;aim deed or deeds to the above described alley in said Block 76, SECTION 3: That the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, hereby retains easements in and across the North side of said land and* said alley hereby vacated, for the purpose of laying and running all character of public utility lines, including water, gas, light, electricity, telegraph and telephone, and power lines, with the right of ingress and egress for the purpose of erecting and maintaining such public utilities.
