The Board of Aldermen of the City c�' � ichita Falls met in
regular session on the above date w it h the f ollowing members present:

The Minutes cf the previous meeting were read and approved.
A. W. Caperton filed a petition for a permit to erect and
operate a garage and filling station at 3118 Grant Street. After a
discussion, the following motion was put in order. -
Moved by Alderman McCutchen that the application be re-
ceived and a public hearing be ordered held at 7:30 P. M. April 29,
1929, In the Council Chamber in the Memorial Auditorium, for the
purpose of hearing protests.
Motion seconded by Ald ear man Harvey and carried.
Maved by Alderman Harvey that the petition of the Orient
Petroleum Company for a permit to erect and operate a gasoline
filling station on the Northwest corner of Harrison Street and Avenue
E be received and a public hearing be ardered held at 7:30 P. M.
April 29, 1929, in the Council Chamber in the Memorial Auditorium,
for the purpose of hearing protests.
Motion seconded by Alderman Patton and carried.
Bids for contract to audit the books and records of the
City were opened and tabulated. The following bids were received
and examined:

and after consideration the following motion was put in order:
Moved by Alderman Patton that the contract for auditing the city
books and records for the f iacal year ending March 31, 1929 be awarded
to the firm of Smith, Allred and Lambert upon their bid of 4845,.00 for a
complete audit in compliance with specifications furnished by the City
Manager .
Motion seconded by Alderman McCutchen and carried.

STATER COMPANY, ITS SUCCESSORS, ASSIGNS AND LESSEES, TBE RIGHT TO CON-
STRUCT AND MAINTAIN A LOADING RACK UPON AND ACROSS RAILROAD STREET BE-
TWEEN HOLLI DAY S TREET AMID THE AILEY I NT ER SE C TI NG `B L OC K 3 , SPIVEY ADDI T I0 N,
TO THE CITY OF WI CHITA FALLS.
Loved by Alderman McCutchen that Ordiname No. 1020 be passed on
its second reading.
Motion seconded by Alderman Spoonts and carried by the following
vote
Yeas: Aldermen McCutchen, Spoonts, Patton and Harvey.
Nays: None,
Moved by Alderman McCutchen that the City Manager be authorized
to adjust the tax valuation of the Federal Clothing Company f or the year
1928 to the best interest of the City .
Motion seconded by Alderman Patton and. carried.
Moved by Alderman Harvey that the following freeholders be ap-
pointed to serve as a Board of Equalization for the year 1929:

Motion seconded by Alderman Patton aril. carried,
Moved by Alderman McCutchen that .the City Manager be granted
leave of absence to attend the American Society of Civil Engineers Convention being
held in Dallas on April 25th, 26th and 27th , 19290
Motion seconded by Alderman Spoonts and carried.
Moved by Alderman Patton that the budget for the fiscal year be-
ginning April 1, 1929, and ending March 31, 1930, carrying estimated reve-
nue of $1,151, 669.07 and estimated expenditures of $1, 056, 415.85 prepared
and presented by the City Manager, be approved and the City Attorney be
instructed to draft the necessary appropriation ordinance covering the
operation of the city government for the ensuing fiscal year.
