Min 09/29/1930Wichita Falls, Texas Memorial Auditorium Building September 29th, 1930 The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in regular session on the above date with the following members present: Falter Nelson, Jr., Mayor R.O. Harvey, Z J. M. Spoonts, X Aldermen J. N. Prothro, W. E. McBro om, City Clerk Thelbert Martin, City Attorney The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Moved by Alderman Prothro that the application of Mrs. L. B. Saye for a permit to establish and operate a grocery store in her home at 1701 Collins Avenue be received and a public hearing be held in the Memorial Auditorium at 7:30 P. M. October 6th, 1930, for the pur- pose of hearing protests. Motion seconded by Alderman Harvey and carried. ORDINANCE NO.1041 AN ORDINANCE LEVYING, ASSESSING AIM FIXIM THE RATE OF TAXA- TION IN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, FOR THE YEAR A. D. 1930 AND LEVYING AN OCCUPATION TAX ON ALL OCCUPATIONS TAXABLE UNDER TFE LAWS OF THE STATE OF TEXAS AND THE CHARTER AND 0 RD I NANC ES OF SAID CITY, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. Moved by Alderman Harvey that Ordinance No. 1041 be passed on its first reading. Motion seconded by Alderman Spoonts and carried by the fol- lowing vote: Yeas: Aldermen Harvey, Spoonts and Prothro. Nays: None. Moved by Alderman Spoonts that the Mayor be authorized to countersign the pay checks to be delivered to employees on October 1st, provided the City Manager does not return from the National City Managers' Convention by that time. Motion seconded by Alderman Harvey and carried. Moved by Alderman Spoonts that the meeting be adjourned. Motion seconded by Alderman Harvey and carried. The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
