Min 06/02/1930Wichita falls, Texas Memorial Auditorium Building June 2 2 193 0 The Board of Aldermen of the City of Tichita Falls met in regular session on the above date with the following members present: J. M. Spoonts, X C. E. Mc Cut ch en, X r'-'f E. H. Eddleman, Aldermen wt J. N. Prothro, G. D. Fairtrace, City Yanager E. YcBroom, City Clerk Thelbert IMartin, City Attorney Moved by Alderman Spoonts that Alderman McCutchen be ap- pointed Mayor Protem to act during the absence from the City of Mayor Walter Nelson, Jr. Motion seconded by Alderman Eddleman and carried. The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Moved by Alderman Spoonts that the application of T. E. Hill for a permit to construct a gasoline filling station on Lots 1 and 2, Block 236, Original Townsite, be received, and the City Clerk be in- structed to give notice by publication of a hearing to be held at 7:30 P. M. June 9th, 1930, in the Council Chamber in the Memorial Auditorium for the purpose of hearing protests. Motion seconded by Alderman Eddleman and carried. The hearing on the application of R. A. Covington for a per- mit to construct a frame building on Lot 1, Block 1, Curlee Addition, to be used as a delicatessen was called and after hearing the protests of A. B. Huff, J. 0. Polhemus, Marvin Hudson, G. L. Palmer and L. L. Blakely, the following motion was put in order: Moved by Alderman Prothro that R. A. Covington be denied a permit for the construction of a frame building on Lot 1, Block 1, Curlee Addition, to be used as a delicatessan for the f ollowing reasons, to -wit: 1. The construction of a frame building for the operation of a delicatessan at this location will injure property values in a strictly residential district. 2. It will be a detriment to the health, peace and comfort of all ,r^ surrounding property owners. Motion seconded by Alderman Spoonts and carried. 79t3 Moved by Alderman Eddleman that the City Treasurer be instructed to make the following transfers of funds on his books to cover material and supplies furnished various depertnents by the Street Departuent during the period February 1st, 1930-, to April 30, 1930: Transfer From Transfer To General Fund $1,237.41 Street Fund 02,561.88 Park Fund 1,107.72 +', at er Fund 137.70 Sewer Bond Fund 79.05 5 61. 88 Motion seconded by -Alderman Speoate and carried. Moved by Alderman Eddleman that the City Treasurer be instructed to transfer $45,000 from the ',later Fund to the General Fund. i Motion seconded by Alderman Prothro aril carried.
