The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in
regular session on the above date with the following members present:
Walter Nelson, Jr., Mayor,
J. N. Prothro,

E. H. Eddl eman ,
G. A Fairtraee, City Manager,
W. E. McBroom, City Clerk,
Thelbert Martin, City Attorney.
The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Moved by Alderman McCutchen that the application of Short
Brothers for a permit to erect a f rame bu ilding on the rear of Lot
5, Block 18, Jalonic Addition, House No. 1409 Sixteenth Street, to be
used as a creamery for handling milk products, be received and the
City Clerk be instructed to give notice by publication of a hearing
to be held at 7:30 P. M. May 19, 1930, in Room 300, Memorial Audit-
torium, for the purpose of hearing protests.
Motion seconded by Alderman Eddleman and carried.
The hearing on the application of the Peoples Ice Company
for a permit to erect a tile and concrete building on the Northeast
corner of Broad and Eleventh Streets to be used as an ice station
was called and after hearing no protests, the following motion was
put in order:
Moved by Alderman McCutchen that the Peoples Ice Company
be granted a permit to erect an ice station on the Northeast corner
cf Broad and Eleventh Streets in accordance with plans and specifi-
cations filed with this Body.
Motion seconded by Alderman Eddleman and carried.
Moved by Alderman McCutchen that the application of D. A.
Cameron fcr a permit to erect a building on property owned by him
on the corner of Eighteenth and Burnett Streets to be used as a re-
tail grocery store, be received and the City Clerk be instructed to
give notice by publication of a public hearing to be held at 7:30
P. M. May 19, 1930, in the Council Ch amb er in the Memorial Auditorium
for the purpose of hearing protests.
Motion seconded by Alderman Harvey and carried.
Moved by Alderman McCutchen that the matter of delivering a check
to W. P. Turner for services rendered the City be referred to the City
Manager for necessary action.
Motion seconded by Alderman Harvey and carried.
Moved by Alderman Eddleman that the City accept deed to the
following described tract of land offered by Fred E. A. Darr fcr street
purposes:
"BEGINNING at the Southwest corner of Lot 14, Block
34, Original Townsite of Wichita Falls, Texas,
same being in the East line of Scott Avenue and at
the Northwest corner of Lot 13 of said Block;
THENCE in a Northeasterly direction along the South
line of said Lot 14, Block 34, to the 'nest right -of
way line of the F.W.& D.C. Ry; THENCE in a North-
westerly direction along the said F.W.& D.C. Ry.
right -of -way line to its intersection with the East
line cf Scott Avenue; THENCE in a Southeasterly
direction along the East line of Scott Avenue to
the place of beginning. Containing within these
metes and bounds all that portion of Lot 14, Block
34, Original Townsite, Wichita Falls, Texas, lying
between Scott Avenue and the right -of -way of the
F.W. & D.C. Ry."
Motion seconded by Alderman McCutchen and carried.
ORDINANCE NO 1035
AN ORDINANCE MAKING AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION OUT OF THE UN-
APPROPRIATED BALANCE OF CITY REVENUES AT APRIL 1ST, 1930, FOR M PURPOSE
OF PAYING THE SALARY OF AN ADDITIONAL WATCHMAN IN THE POLICE DEPARMENT
FOR ELEVEN MONTHS, BEGINNING MAY 1ST, 1930, AND ENDING MARCH 31ST, 1931,
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
Moved by Alderman Harvey that Ordinance No. 1035 be passed on
its second reading.

Nays: None.
Moved by Alderman Harvey that the rules requiring ordinances
to be passed on three separate days be suspended and an emergency declared.

Moved by Alderman Hervey that Ordinance No. 1035 be passed
on its third and final reading and be adopted as read.
Motion seconded by Alderman Spoonts and carried by the fol-
lowing vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Harvey, Spoonts, McCutchen, Prothro & Eddleman.
Neys : None.
Moved by Alderman McCutchen that the meeting be adjourned.
Motion seconded by Alderman Spoonts and carried.
The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
