The Board of Aldermen of the City of ' ichita "alls met in regular session on the above date with the following members present: J. W. Akin, Mayor, C. E. McCutchen, J. M. Spoonts, X Aldermen, p J. W. Hunt, G. D. Fairtrace, City Manager, W. E. McBroom, City Clerk, Thelbert Martin, City Attorney. The Minutes of the previous -meeting were read and approved. Moved by Alderman Hunt that the City Manager be authorized to investigate the application of J. R. Welch for a permit to estab- lish a curb filling station at 408 Ohio Avenue, with authority to grant said permit if it is found that the establishment of such station would not violate any of the City Ordinances. Motion seconded by Alderman McCutchen and carried. Moved by Alderman McCutchen that the City Clerk be author- ized to issue a license to A. W. Walton to operate a public Domino Parlor at 200 Mill Street in accordance with the terms of Ordinance No. 496. Motion seconded by Alderman Spoonts and carried. Moved by Alderman Hunt that the following resolution be adopted. Motion seconded by Alderman McCutchen and carried by the 1 following vote: Yeas: Aldermen Hunt, McCutchen and Spoonts. Nays: None. RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AM DIRECTING THE CITY TREASURER AND CITY CLERK TO GIVE WRITTEN NOTICE OF REDEMPTION OF WATERWORKS BONDS DATED FEBRUARY 10, 1920, DUE FEBRUARY 10, 1960, OPTIONAL FEB- RUARY 10, 1930. WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls Waterworks bonds dated February loth, 1920, due 40 years from their date but redeemable at the option of the City at any time after 10 years from their date; bearing 5% interest, being for the total sum of $800, 000.00 and of which amount there is now outstanding and unpaid the sum of $743,000. both principal and interest being payable in the office of the City Treasurer or at the Central Hanover Bank and Trust Company, New York, N. Y. at the option of the holder, and being Bonds Nos. 1 to 63, both inclusive, 69 to 113, both inclusive, 142 to 253, both inclusive, 256 to 278, both Inclusive, 294 to 607, both inclusive, 609 to 667, both inclusive, 670 to 681, both inclusive, 684 to 763, both inclusive, and 765 to 799, both in- clus ive, and WHEREAS, Section 75 of the Charter of the City of Wichita Falls requires that the accumulated sinking fund of any issue of bonds shall be applied at once to the discharge of a like amount of said bonds should the City be entitled to redeem same, and WHEREAS, the City is entitled to redeem Bonds Nos. 1 to 63, both inclusive, and 69 to 108, both inclusive, due to the Sinking Fund of this issue having a balance of $103,000.00 at this time; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS: Section 1. The City Treasurer and the City Clerk of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, are hereby authorized, ordered and directed to jointly issue and execute proper notice in writing in conformity with the proceedings authorizing the issuance of Waterworks Bonds issued pursuant to an election duly called and held in said City and Ordinance No. 278 adopted by the Board of Aldermen on February 12th, 1920, to the effect that the City of Wichita Falls has called in for redemption outstanding Bonds Nos. 1 to 63 both inclusive, and 69 to 108, both inclusive, aggre- gating the sum of A103,000, which outstanding bonds are hereinabove de- scribed and which said notice shall be substantially as follows: CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS. January 6th, 1930. To holders of City of Wichita Falls Waterworks Bonds, dated February loth, 1920. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, by resolution duly adopted by its Board of Aldermen on the 6th day of January, 1930, of record in Book No. 11 of the Minutes of said Board., has called in fcr redemption the following series of bonds: Waterworks Bonds Nos. 1 to 63 both inclusive, and 69 to 108, both inclusive, in the denomination of 61,000.00 each, aggregating $103,000, issued under date of February loth, 1920. THAT THE DATE fixed in said resolution for redeeming said bonds is the loth day of "February, 1930, and you are hereby notified that in the event said bonds, or any of them, are not presented for redemption at the Central Hanover Bank and Trust Company, successors to the Hanover Yational Bank, in New York City, N. Y. , they shall cease to bear interest from and after the date so fixed for their redemption. THIS NOTICE is issued and given pursuant to the aforesaid reso- lution of the Board of Aldermen, and in accordance with recitals and pro- visions in each bond of the series of bonds hereinabove described. Motion seconded by Alderman McCutchen and carried. Moved by Alderman hunt that the meeting be adjourned. Motion seconded by Alderman McCutchen and carried. I The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
