The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in regular
session on the above date with the following members present:
Walter Nelson, Jr., Mayor
E. H. Eddleman, X
J. N. Prothro, X
R. 0. Harvey, Z Aldermen

J. M. Spoonts,
G. D. Fairtrace, City Manager
W. E. McBroom, City Clerk
Thelbert Martin, City Attorney
The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Moved by Alderman Spoonts that S. A. Wyatt be granted a
permit to construct a drive in filling station on his property at
the corner of Seventh and Lee Streets.
Motion seconded by Alderman Eddleman and carried.
ORDINANCE NO.1064
AN ORDINANCE REPEALING SECTION 22 OF ORDINANCE NO. 445,
PASSED AMID APPROVED ON THE 2ND DAY OF JULY, A. D. 1923, ENTITLED,
"ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR RULES, REGULATIONS, AND RATES, AMID FOR THE
OPERATION AND MANAGEMENT OF THE WATER DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY,"AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
Moved by Alderman Harvey that Ordinance No. 1064 be passed
on its'third and final reading and be adopted as read.
Motion seconded by Alderman Prothro and carried by the fol-
lowing vote:
Eddleman. Yeas: Aldermen Harvey, Prothro, McCutchen, Spoonts, and
Nays: None.
The following resignation of City Manager G. D. Fairtrace
was read by the Mayor:

Honorable Mayor and Board of Aldermen
City of Wichita Falls, Texas
Gentlemen:
I respectfully tender my resignation as City Manager of
Wichita Falls to take effect July lst.
It is with much regret that I sever my connections with the
City of Wichita Falls.
I have enjoyed living here, and sincerely appreciate the
whole hearted cooperation which this Council has extended me.

Moved by Alderman Prothro that the resignation of G. D. Fair -
trace effective July 1st be accepted.
Motion seconded by Alderman McCutchen and carried.
The following resolution was introduced by Alderman Eddleman:
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, George D. Fairtrace has been appointed and accepted
the position as City Manager of the City of Ft. Worth, Texas, and
WHEREAS, he has served the City of Wichita Falls honestly,
efficiently, and successfully as City Manager for the past three years,
and
WHEREAS, the present Board of Aldermen considers him their
friend and knows that he has rendered a service to the City of Wichita
Falls and the citizenship in general for which they are greatly indebted
to him.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN 0ff THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
Section 1. That this Board extends its thanks and the thanks
of the citizens of Wichita Falls to George D. Fairtrace for the wonder-
ful service he has rendered the City during his term of office.
Section 2. That it expresses to the said George D. Fairtrace
its regret that it becomes necessary for him to sever his connection
with the City of Wichita Falls, but that it extends congratulations to
the City of Ft. Worth and its best wishes for a successful administration
under the said 'George D. Fairtrace. f
PASSED AND APPROVED this 29th day of June, A. D. 1931.

Moved by Alderman Eddleman that the above resolution be
adopted.
Motion seconded by Alderman Spoonts and carried by the
following vote:
Yeast Aldermen Eddleman, Spoonts, McCutchen, Prothro and
Harvey.
Nays: None.
Moved by Alderman Spoonts that the City accept deeds from
the Hamilton -Martin Investment Company conveying to the City the
parks at the end of Harrison Street and on the West side of Taft
Street between Roselawn Avenue and Buena Vista Way.
Motion seconded by Alderman Prothro and carried.
Moved by Alderman Eddleman that W. E. M cBroom be appointed
Acting City Manager and E. T. Irvine be appointed Acting City Clerk
effective July 1st until a successor to George D. Fairtraee, resigned,
has been appointed.
Motion seconded by Alderman Prothro and carried.
Moved by Alderman Eddleman that the meeting be adjourned.
Motion seconded by Alderman McCutchen and carried.
The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
