The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in
regular session on the above date with the following members present:

The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Moved by Alderman Spoonts that B. W. Johnson be granted a
permit to install two 10 x 20 ft. overhead gasoline and kerosene
storage tanks on a tract of land lying 100 ft. west of the inter-
section of North Broadway and Iowa Park Road.
Motion seconded by Alderman Harvey and carried.
The hearing with reference to the application of J. E.
Stephens for a permit to erect and operate a hamburger stand on his
property at 412 Travis Street was called, and, after hearing no pro-
tests, the following motion was put in order:
Yoved by Alderman Spoonts that J. E. Stephens be granted
a permit to operate a hamburger stand at 412 Travis Street, and
further provided that the building may be set within two or three
feet ofAxsidewalk line if there is no protest by adjoining property
owners,
Motion seconded by Alderman Eddleman and carried.
Moved by Alderman Eddleman that the Durnal-Jones'Rubber
Company be granted permission to cut back the curb nine feet at the
corner of Eighth and Austin Streets for the purpose of installing
gasoline pumps, provided all work is done under the supervision and
to the entire satisfaction of the City Engineer.

AN ORDINANCE ApPROPRIATINI, 83,7501.00 OUT OF THE UNAPPROPRIATED
BALANCE OF THE GENERAL FUND FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING MARCH 31, 1931,
FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF CHARITY PATIENTS IN THE WICHITA GENERAL HOSPITAL;
AND $p2, 247.98 FROM THE UNAPPROPRIATED BALANCE OF THE STREET FUND FOR THE
YEAR ENDINGMARCH 312 1931, TO PAY FOR STREET GRADING.
Moved by Alderman Eddleman that Ordinance No. 1052 be passed on
its third and final reading and be adopted as read.

RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE RETURNS AND DECLARING RESULTS OF
THE SPECIAL ELECTION HELD ON THE 14TH DAY OF MARCH, A. D. 1931, TO DETER-
MINE WHETHER OR NOT THE BOARD OF ALDMU.TEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS
SHOULD BE AUTHORIZED TO ISSUE WATERWORKS IMPROVEMENT BONDS IN THE Sill OF
ONE MILLION ($1,000,000.00) DOLLARS.
At a meeting of the Board cr Aldermen of the City cf Wichita
Falls, Texas, held at the regular meeting place thereof at the Memorial
Auditorium on the 16th day of March, A. D. 1931, a quorum being present,
came on to be considered the returns of the election held in said city on
tjye 14th day of March, A. D. 1931, to determine whether cr not the Board
of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, should be authorized to
issue bonds of said City in the sum of One Million ($1,000,000.00) Dollars,
and to levy a tax sufficient to pay the interest on said bonds and to
create a sinking fund sufficient to redeem them at maturity, maturing
serially not to exceed forty (40) years and bearing interest at the rate
of Qe� per annum, payable semi-annually for the purpose of raising funds
to construct improvements and extensions to the present system of water-
works; on consideration of such returns, the following resolution was
adopted:
WHEREAS, under and by virtue of an ordinance duly enacted and
approved by the Board of Aldermen of said City on the 9th day of February,
A. D. 1931, an election was held in said city on the 14th day of March,
A. D. 1931, for the purpose of determining whether or not the Board of
Aldermen of said City should be authorized to issue bonds in the amount of
One Million ($1,000,000.00) Dollars, maturing serially, not to exceed
forty (40) years, and bearing interest at the rate of 4-1-% per annum, paya-
ble semi-annually, and to levy a tax sufficient to pay the interest on
said bonds and create a sinking fund sufficient to redeem them at maturity
for the uuroose of raising funds to construct improvements and extensions
to the present system of waterworks to provide an adequate and available
water supply and plant for said City of Wichita Falls, Texas, and,
WHEREAS, upon consideration of the returns of said election it
appeared that the same was in all respects legally held; that due notice
had been given; that returns thereof were legally made; that there were
cast at said election 3453 votes, of which number 1458 votes were cast
"For the issuance of bonds", and 1995 were cast "Against the issuance of
bonds";
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND DECLARED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERTaN
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
The the proposition to issue said bonds and levy said tax
was not sustained by the majority of the qualified tax payers voting
at said election.
PASSED AND APPROVED this the 16th day of March, A. D. 1931.
