Min 01/19/1931.6 S'71 Memorial Auditorium Building Wichita Falls, Texas January 19th, 1931 The Board of Aldermen of theCity of Wichita Falls met in regular session on the above date with the following members present: Walter Nelson, Jr., Mayor R. 0. Harvey, Z C. E. McCutchen, X E. H. Eddleman, X Aldermen J. M. Spoonts, Z J. N. Prothro, G. D. Fair trace, City Manager W. E. McBroom, City Clerk Thelbert Martin, City Attorney The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The public hearing on the application of J. H. Allison for a permit to erect a gasoline filling station on Lots 1 and 2, Block 38, Floral Heights Addition, was called, and, after hearing the pro- tests of A. B. Maples, L. E. Cowling, Sr., W. A. McCarty, Piner Avis and others, being the property owners within a radius of 300 feet of the proposed location, the following motion was put in order: I Moved by Alderman Eddleman that action be deferred on the application until Monday evening January 26, 1931. Motion seconded by Alderman McCutchen and carried. Moved by Alderman McCutchen that action on the request of E. E. Fisher with reference to the condemnation of a building located at 1406 18th Street as a fire hazard be deferred so that the matter may be investigated by the Fire Department. Motion seconded by Alderman Prothro and carried. Eoved by Alderman Prothro that the petition of the American Legion and Spanish American lJar Veterans for celotex treatment for improving the acoustics in their meeting room in the basement of the Memorial Auditorium, be taken under advisement. Motion seconded by Alderman McCutchen and carried. Moved by Alderman McCutchen that on account of error in assessment of the stock of United States Rubber Company for the year 1930 when the full value was assessed instead of two-thirds of same, that the value be reduced from 6,090.00 to 4,060.00, and the Tax Assessor be instructed to make this correction on his tax assessment roll for the year 1930. Motion seconded by Alderman Spoonts and carried. 87� Moved by Alderman McCutchen that the meeting be adjourned. Motion seconded by Alderman Eddleman and carried. The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
