E. McCutchen, J. M. Spoonts, X R. 0. Harvey, Z Aldermen J. S. Bridwell, X J. N. Prothro, X V. R. Smitham, City Manager N. E. McBroom, City Clerk Thelbert Martin, City Attorney The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The public hearing on the application of the Southwest Dairy Products Company for a permit to establish a mule barn on Virginia Street at the old James Brothers Creamery location was held and, after hearing no protests, the following motion was put in order: Moved by Alderman Harvey that the permit be granted. Motion seconded by Alderman Bridwell and carried. Moved by Alderman MCCutchen that the City Manager be author- ized to sign four notes payable to the Elgin Street Sweeper Co. of Elgin, Illinois, on or before one year from June 18, 1932, in the amount of $2,837.50,p each bearing interest at the rate of 5% per annum to evidence the indebtedness of the City for two Elgin sweepers purchased in June 1932. Motion seconded by Alderman Harvey and carried. ORDINANCE NO 1093 AN ORDINANCE MAKING ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING MARCH 31, 1933, FROM THE GENERAL FUND, BEING $200.00 FOR JURY FEES AND FROM THE STREET FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $363.26 TO COVER PAYMENT ON GRADING CONTRACT DATED AIDUST 13, 1925, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. Moved by Alderman Prothro that Ordinance No. 1093 be passed on its third and final reading and be adopted as read. Motion seconded by Alderman Spoonts and carried by the fol- lowing vote: Yeas: Aldemnen Prothro, Spoonts, Bridwell, Harvey, and McCut the n. Nays: None. ORDINANCE NO 1094 AN ORDINANCE ANENDING SECTIOly 9 OF ORDINANCE NO. 3311, PASSED AND APPROVED THE 8TH DAY OF NOVE11BER, A. D. 1920, ENPITIED "AN ORDINANCE FOR THE LICENSING AND REGULATIN3 OF AUTOMOBILES FOR HIRE AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY," SO AS TO FURTHER DEFINE OFFENSES UNDER SAID ORDINANCE AND PROVIDE FOR THE REMEDIES AND PENALTIES FOR ITS VIOLATION, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. ORDINANCE NO 1096 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE NO. 986, ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING ANY PERSON, FIRM, OR CORPORATION FROM ENGAGING IN THE BUSINESS OF ITINERANT VENDOR WITHOUT FIRST HAVING OBTAINED A LICENSE, DEFINING THE WORDS ITINERANT VENDOR, FIXING A LICENSE FEE, REQUIRING A BOND FROM SUCH PERSON AND PRE - Scribing a penalty," SO THAT SAID ORDINANCE SHALL APPLY TO PHOTO- GRAPHERS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. This action taken in compliance with the protests filed by property owners in the vicinity of the location of the proposed mule barn.
