regular session on the above date with the following members present:

The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
ORDINANCE NO 1145
AN ORDINANCE MAKING IT UNLAWFUL FOR ANY PERSON TO ENGAGE
IN OR PROMOTE ANY PERSONAL, PHYSICAL AND/OR MENTAL ENDURANCE CONTESTS
IN PUBLIC COMPETITION FOR PRIZES, AWARDS, OR AIM ISSION FEES IN THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, EXCEPT ATHLETIC CONTESTS OF SCHOOLS, COLLEGES,
AND UNIVERSITIES OF THE STATE AND ANY TRIAL CONTESTS FOR THE PURPOSE
OF TESTING THE STRENGTH AND CAPACITY OF MATERIALS AND MACHINERY OF
ANY KIND, PRESCRIBING A PENALTY AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
Moved by Alderman Deaton that Ordinance No. 1145 be passed
on its first reading.
Motion seconded by Alderman Prothro and carried by the
following vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Deaton, Prothro, Myers, Fox, and Bridwell.
Nays: None.
Moved by Alderman Prothro that the rules requiring ordinances
to be read on three separate days be suspended, an emergency declared,
and Ordinance No. 1145 be passed on its second reading.
Motion seconded by Alderman Fox and carried by the following
vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Prothro, Fox, Bridwell, Myers, and Deaton.
Nays: None.
Moved by Alderman Myers that Ordinance No. 1145 be passed on
its third and final reading and be adopted as read.
Motion seconded by Alderman Bridwell and carried by the fol-
lowing vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Myers, Bridwell, Deaton, Fox, and Prothro.
Nays: None.
Moved by Alderman Myers that the meeting be recessed subject
to call of the Mayor.
Motion seconded by Alderman Deaton and carried.
Mayor. The Board of Aldermen then recessed subject to call of the
READ AND APPROVED this 1st day of January 1934.
