The Board of Aldermen of the City (f Wichita Falls met
in regular session on the above date with the following members
present:

Thelbert Martin, City Attorney
Moved by Alderman Prothro that Alderman Myers be appointed
Mayor Protem to act during the absence from the city of Mayor
Walter Nelson, Jr.
Motion seconded by Alderman Bridwell and carried.
The Minutes cC the previous meeting were read and
approved.
Moved by Alderman Bridwell that a permit be denied to
F. Max Murphy for the operation of a negro dance hall at 110
Barwise.
Motion seconded by Aldernan Protho and carried.
Moved by Alderman Bridwell that the City Manager and
Mayor Protem go before the Chamber of Commerce Directors' Meet-
ing and ask that organization to sponsor a movement having for its
purpose the collection' of delinquent taxes.
Motion seconded by Alderman Fox and carried.
Moved by Alderman Bridwell that the City Manager, City
Clerk, and City Engineer be authorized to go to Houston and appear
before the State Advisory Committee of the Federal Public Works
Administration in connection with its hearing on the application
of the city for a loan and grant of $368,000.00 for waterworks
improvements; said hearing to be held Friday, November 3.
Motion seconded by Alderman Prothro and carried.
Moved by Alderman Deaton that a permit be granted to the
Municipal Gas Company for replacement of their lines on Lamar Street
from Eleventh to Seventeenth, provided that the said permit recite that
the granting of such authority be not considered as a renewal or exten-
sion of their franchise %hich expired in September 1933.
Motion seconded by Alderman Fog and carried.
Moved by Alderman Bri dwell that the meeting be adjourned.
Motion seconded by Alderman Deaton and carried.
The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
