Min 10/23/1933I 127() Wichita Falls, Texas Memorial Auditorium Building October 23, 1933 The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in regular session on the above date with the following members present: Walter Nelson, Jr., Mayor J. N. Prothro, ] Leon L. Deaton, X Raymond M. Myers, Z Aldermen J. S. Bridwell, X V. R. Smitham, City I -anger W. E. McBroom, City Clerk Thelbert Partin, City Attorney The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Moved by Alderman Bridwell that the application of Bob for a chauffeur's permit be not approved. Motion seconded by Alderman Prothro and carried. Moved by Alderman Bridwell that the City Treasurer be instructed to transfer the following funds to pay interest and principal on waterworks and park bonds due November 1, 1933: Transfer from Water Fund $8,796.25 Transfer from Park Fund 802.50 Transfer to Water Interest and Sinking Fund Series C $7,107.50 Transfer to Water Interest an7. Sinking Fund Series C-1 1,688.75 Transfer to Park Interest and Sinking Fund Series E Interest 302.50 Transfer to Park Interest and Sinking Fund Series E Principal 500.00 Motion seconded by Alderman Myers and carried. Moved by Alderman Prothro that the DeMolay boys be given the privilege of conducting the city government on November 2 under supervision of the city officials in charge of the various depar tme nt s . Motion seconded by Alderman Myers and carried. 12'71 adopted. Moved by Alderman Myers that the following resolution be ing vote: Motion seconded by Alderman Prothro and carried by the follow - Yeas: Aldermen Myers, Prothro, Deaton, and Bridwell. Nays: None. RESOLUTION WHEREAS, UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT AND THE STATE OF TEXAS PRO- POSE TO CONSTRUCT UNDERPASSES UPON WHAT IS NOW KNOWN AS THE FORT WORTH HIGHWAY AND TO IMPROVE AND CONSTRUCT SAID HIGHWAY FROM SUCH UNDERPASS TO TENTH STREET IN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS WITHOUT COST TO THE SAID CITY, PROVIDED SUCH HIGHWAY IS OPENED, WIDENED AND REROUTED IN ACCORDANCE WITB THE ATTACHED MAP; AND, WHEREAS, THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS HAS AGREED AND OBLIGATED ITSELF TO PROCURE SUCH RIGHT OF WAY FROM TENTH STREET TO THE CITY LIMITS WITHOUT COST AND EXPENSE TO THE SAID FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AND THE SAID STATE GOVERNMENT; AND, WHEREAS, THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS AND THE OWNERS OF SOME OF THE PROPERTY HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO AGREE UPON THE VALUE OF THE LAND OR THE DAMAGES THERETO BY REASON OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF SAID HIGHWAY ALONG SAID ROUTE; AND, WHEREAS, the CITY OF WICHITA FALLS IS AUTHORIZED UNDER TBE CONSTITUTION AND LAWS OF THE STATE OF TEXAS TO CONDEMN' SAID PROPERTY TO BE USED FOR THE PURPOSE OF OPENING, ALYING OUT AMID WIDENING AND COLT- STURCTING SAID HIGHWAY. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERLIEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS: . SECTION 1. That the City of Wichita Falls proceed to lay out, open, establish, widen, straighten and extend said Fort Worth Highway, as shown on the attached map, saw shoving the property to be taken or condemned and giving the lot and block numbers, number of feet, and the name of the owner of each cf said peices of property. SECTION 2. That the City Attorney of the City of Wichita Fall: be and he is hereby authorized and instructed to take all necessary step: to procure such property for said purpose and in that connection to file all suits necessary and proper and institute condemnation proceedings without delay. , PASSED AND APPROVED this 23rd day of October, A. M 12'72 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF AIDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS: That the City of Wichita Falls furnish free of costs to the Wichita County Board of Welfare and Employment whatever technical supervisory personnel as is necessary to the ccmpletion of the project entitled "Recreational", to -wit: C. C. Bunnenberg - to supervise and direct the project and also to be the Superintendent in charge of the job as Superintendent of Park mid Recreation. 11oved by Alderman Myers that the meeting be adjourned.
