The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and ap-
The public hearing on the application of Norman Down-
ing for a permit to erect a greenhouse at 2200-2206 Brook Avenue
was called and after hearing no protests the following motion
was put in order:
Moved by Aldermaq Bridwell that Norman Downing be
granted a permit to erect a greenhouse at 2200-2206 Brook Ave.
Motion seconded by Alderman Myers and egrried.
Moved by Alderman Prothro that the application of J. A.
Evans for a license to operate a domino parlor at 920 Scott Avenue
be approved subject to investigation of the City Manager.
Motion seconded by Alderman Myers and carried.
Moved by Alderman Bridwell that the Bond of the City
Manager be reduced from $20,000.00 to $10,000.00, effective
August 1.
Motion seconded by Alderman Deaton and carried.
Moved by Alderman Bridwell that the City Manager be
instructed to investigate the surety bonds carried on other
employees and recommend any changes necessary.

4. D. Cline appeared before the Council in behalf of the
negro citizens of the community with the request that the city construct and
operate a swimming pool for negroes ; said pool to be financed by a loan
from the Federal Government with a self liquidating classification.
Moved by Alderman Bridwell that the City Manager investigate
and report the probable original cost, maintenance and probable
revenue from a swimming pool for the negroes.
Motion seconded by Alderman Deaton and carried.
ORDINANCE NO 1134
AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING RATES TO BE CHARGED PERSONS, FIRMS,
AND CORPORATIONS RESIDING BEYOND THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS OR MAINTAINING AND OPERATING PLACES OF BUSINESS OUTSIDE
THE CITY LIMITS OF SAID CITY AND BEING CONNECTED WITH AND USING THE
SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM OF SAID CITY, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
Moved by Alderman Deaton that Ordinance No. 1134 be passed on
its first reading.

Nays: None.
The City Manager explained the new rate schedule offered by the
Texas Electric Service Company.
Moved by Alderman Deaton that the City Manager inform the
public which is the more acceptable of the two rates offered by the
Texas Electric Service Company for domestic consumers and recommend to
each consumer which rate will be more advantageous to him.
Motion seconded by Alderman Bridwell and carried.
Moved by Alderman Myers that the meeting be adjourned.
Motion seconded.by Alderman Prothro and carried.
The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
