The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met
in regular session on the above date with the following members
present:
Walter Nelson, Jr., Mayor
Leon L. Deaton,
George D. Fox,
Raymond M. Myers, Z Aldermen
J. N. Prothro, X
V. R. Smitham, City Manager
IV. E. McBroom, City Clerk
Thelbert Martin, City Attorney
The Tuinutes of the previous meeting were read and
approved.
Moved by Alderman Myers that the following resolution
be adopted.
Motion seconded by Alderman Prothro and carried by the
following vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Myers, Prothro, Deaton, and Fog.
Nays: None.
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, JOHN BOSWELL HAS BEEN THE FRIEND, NOT ONLY TO
THE PRESENT CITY AIMINISTRATION BUT HAS BEEN FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL
TO EACH AND EVERY CITY AIMINISTRATION SINCE BE TOOK UP HIS RESI-
DENCE WITH US.
WHEREAS, THE SUPREME RULER OF THE UNIVERSE IN HIS WIS-
DOM HAS CALLED TO OTHER DUTIES OUR SAID FRIEND AND NEIGHBOR.
WHEREAS, WE FEEL THAT IT WILL BE IMPOSSIBLE TO REPLACE
SAID JOHN BOSWELL AND THAT THE CITY HAS SUFFERED GREAT LOSS BY
HIS DEATH.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF
THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That we do hereby publicly express our sorrow,
, and regret at the loss of our good citizen and
-� friend, John Boswell, and do hereby offer sympathy and condolence
to his family.
SECTION 2. That these resolutions be recorded in the
Minutes, and a copy be furnished the press and a signed copy be
delivered to his family.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 24th day of July, A. D. 1933.
Moved by Alderman Deaton that the following applications for
Chauffeurs' permits be approved.

Motion seconded by Alderman Prothro and carried.
Moved by Alderman Deaton that the American Legion be allowed
to use the streets in the down town section during the State Convention
on August 26-29.
Motion seconded by Alderman Prothro and carried.
Moved by Alderman Prothro that the application of Norman
Downing for a permit to erect a frame and stucco building at 2200-2206
Brook Avenue to be used as a nursery be received and a public hearing
be held at 7:30 P.M. July 31, 1933, for the purpose of hearing protests.
Motion seconded by Alderman Fog and carried.
Moved by Alderman Deaton that the meeting be adjourned.
Motion seconded by Alderman Myers and carried.
The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
