Min 06/19/193326 Wichita Falls, Texas Memorial Auditorium Building June 199 1933 The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in regular session on the above date with the following members present: Walter Nelson, Jr., Mayor J. S. Bridwell, X George D. Fox, X Raymond Y. Myers, Y Aldermen J. N. Prothro, X Leon L. Deaton, X .V. R. Smitham, City Manager W. E. McBroom, City Clerk Thelbert Martin, City Attorney The Minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved. Representatives of the Rainbow Coaches appeared before the Council requesting a recommendation to the Railroad Commission for a permit to operate motor busses over Highway No. 66 between Wichita Falls and Jaeksboro. After consideration of the request the following motion was put in order: Moved by Alderman Deaton that the Mayor be authorized to write a letter to the Railroad Commission of Texas stating that the City Council of Wichita Falls has no preference between the Rainbow Coaches and the North Texas Coach Company and that they both be given due and equal consideration for a permit to operate a motor bus line over Highway No. 66 between Wichita Falls and Jacksboro. Motion seconded by Alderman Myers and carried. Moved by Alderman Myers that the complaint of the Pan- handle Refining Company with reference to tax valuations for the year 1931 be referred to the City Manager for investigation. Motion seconded by Alderman Bridwell and carried. Moved by Alderman Myers that the application of Chas. Bialkowski for a permit to erect a gasoline service station on the corner of Tenth and Broad Streets be received and the City Clerk be instructed to give notice by publication of a publio hearing to be held at 7:30 P. M. June 26 in the Council Chamber in the memorial Auditorium for the purpose of hearing protests. Motion seconded by Alderman Bridwell and carried. Moved by Alderman Myers that the complaint of the Wichita County Dental Society with reference to the charity dental service be referred to the City Manager. Motion seconded by Alderman Bridwell and carried. ORDINANCE NO 1130 AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING SECTION 1 OF SENATE BILL NO. 262, RE- LEASING INTEREST AND PENALTIES UPON AD VALOREM TAXES a)E THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS AND DELINQUENT ON OR BEFORE' FEBRUARY 1, 1933, UNDER CER- TAIN CONDITIONS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. Moved by Alderman Deaton that Ordinance No. 1130 be passed on its second reading. vote; Motion seconded by Alderman Myers and carried by the following Yeas: Aldermen Deaton, Myers, Fox, Prothro, and Bridwell. Nays: None. Moved by Alderman Deaton that the rules requiring ordina nee 0 be passed on three separate days be suspended, an emergency declared, and ordinance No. 1130 be passed on its third and final reading and be adopted as read. vote; Motion seconded by Alderman Myers and carried by the following Yeas: Aldermen Deaton, Myers, Prothro, Bridwell, and Fog. Nays: None. Moved by Alderman Deaton that the City Treasurer be instructed to transfer $25,000.00 from the Water Fund to the General Fund and $10,000.00 from the Water Fund to the Street Fund. Motion seconded by Alderman Bridwell and carried. Moved by Alderman Bridwell that the permit fee for building permits for repairs valued up to $500.00 be released for the balance of this fiscal year. Motion seconded by Alderman Deaton and carried. Moved by Alderman Bridwell that the City Manager be authorized to buy a billing machine for the Tax Department at a cost of $1,375.00; terms of ,$225.00 within thirty days from date of delivery and acceptance and the balance in nine months with interest at 4% per annum for six months. Motion seconded by Alderman Myers and carried. T Moved by Alderman Deaton that the application of C. F. WOOTEN for a Phauffeur•s Permit be approved. Motion seconded by Alderman Myers and carried. After hearing a report from the special committee ap- pointed to confer with officials of the Texas Electric Service Company with reference to reduction in light and power rates the following motion was put in order: charged.
