Min 06/05/19331222 Wichita Falls, Texas Memorial Auditorium Building June 5, 1933 The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in regular session on the above date with the following members present: Walter Nelson, Jr., Mayor Raymond M. Myers, X Leon L. Deaton, X J. S. Bridwell, X Aldermen George D. Fox, X V. R. Smitham, City Manager W. E. McBroom, City Clerk Thelbert Martin, City Attorney The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and ap- proved. Moved by Alderman Bridwell that the temporary route of a bus to serve the north side of the Wichita Falls Traction Com- pany submitted by L. L. Allbritton, President, be approved: "Beginning at Eighth and Ohio Streets in the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, running west on Eighth to Austin; north on Austin to Seventh; west on Seventh to Burnett; north on Burnett to the intersection of North Broadway; north on Broadway to the Iowa Park Road; thence east to the Burkburnett Road; thence north to the Katy Shops; returning on the Burkburnett Road to Ohio Street; thence south on Ohio Street to the point of beginning at Eighth and Ohio. We are beginning operating of this service June 1, with twenty minute service morning and evening - approximately seven hours per day actual service. We will increase the service as demands justify.,, Motion seconded by Alderman Deaton and carried. ORRDINANCE NO 1130 AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING SECTION 1 OF SENATE BILL NO. 262, RELEASING INTEREST AMID PENALTIES UPON AD VALORMT TAXES DUE THE MITY OF WICHITA FALLS AND DELINQUENT ON OR BEFORE FEBFU APY 1, 1933, UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS, -= DECLARING AN OZERGENCY. 4 JL223 Moved by Alderman Myers that Ordinance No. 1130 be passed on its first reading. Motion seconded by Alderman Deaton and carried by the follow- ing vote: Yeas: Aldermen Myers, Deaton, Fox, and Bridwell. Nays: None. Moved by Alderman Deaton that the City Treasurer be in- structed to transfer the sum of $14,000.00 from the General Fund to the. Interest and Sinking Fund to cover overdrafts as follows: Refunding Public Building Series 4 Interest $10,782.00 Street Improvement Series 8 Interest 2,900.00 Sanitary Sewer Series 6 Interest 318.00 this transfer being necessary to supplement tax levy on account of reduced valuation. Motion seconded by Alderman Bridwell and carried. O-PTHANCE NO 1127 AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING ALL LICENSED RECORDING FIRE, LIGHTNING, TORNADO, WINDSTORM, AND HAIL INSURANCE AGENTS IN THE CITY 0- WIOT'ITA FAILS TO KEEP A RECORD SHOWING PREMIUMS WRITTEN AND LOSSES PAID EACH CALENDAR YEAR AND TO MAKE A REPORT OF SAME TO THE CITY CLERK ON OR BEFORE JANUARY 15 EACH YEAR; REQUIRING THE OWNERS OF ALL PROPERTY, REAL, PERSONAL, OR MIXED, WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, THEIR AGENT OR AGENTS, TO MAKE SIMILAR REPORTS OTT OR BEFORE JANUARY 15 OF EACH AND EVERY YEAR TO THE CITY CLERK, GIVING THE AMOUNT OF PREMIUMS PAID FOR FIRE, LIGHTNING, TORNADO, WINDSTOP!,4, AND HAIL INSURANCE UPON SUCH PROPERTY WHERE THE PREMIUMS ARE NOT PAID TO A LOCAL AGENT nR AGENT'S RESIDING IN WICHITA FALLS, AND PRESCRIBING A PENALTY. D. 1924, BY ADDING THERETO A PARAGRAPH ALLOWING THE ERECTION OF TRICK BUILDINGS WITH EIGHT INCH 7ALLS UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. 1224 Moved by Alderman Fox that Ordinance No. 1128 be passed on its third and final reading and be adopted as read. Motion seconded by Alderman Myers and carried by the following vote: Yeas: Aldermen Fox, Myers, Bridwell, and Deaton Nays: None. ORDINANCE NO 1129 AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING PERSONS FROTI GOING UPON, TRES- PASSING, AND FISHING AT THE WATER PLANT, SETTLING BASIN, AND RESERVOIR AND THE GROUND AND LAND ADTACENT THERETO OWNED AND CON- TROLLED BY THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS WATER DEPARTMENT AND BEING BOUNDED ON THE WEST AND NORTH BY BTIRNETT STREET AND FERN AVENUE, ON THE SOUTH BY UNDERWOOD STREET AND ON THE EAST BY FLORIDA STREET, AND PRESCRIBING A PENALTY. Moved by Alderman Deaton that Ordinance No. 1129 be passed on its third and final reading and be adopted as read. Motion seconded by Alderman Bridwell and carried by the following vote: Yeas: Aldermen Deaton, Bridwell, Fox, and Myers. Nays: None. The public hearing w1 th reference to the appropriations ordinance was called and after hearing several property owners the following motion was put in order: > Moved by Alderman Bridwell that a recess be taken for an executive meeting with the School Board . Motion seconded by Alderman Deaton and carried. After an executive session with the School Board lasting about one hour the Board of Aldermen returned to the Council Room and resumed the hearing on the appropriations ordinance. Yoved by Alderman Fox that the meeting be adjourned subject to call of the Mayor. Motion seconded by Alderman Bridwell and carried. The Board of Aldermen then adjourned subject to call of the Mayor.
