Min 05/01/1933Wichita Falls, Texas Memorial Auditorium Building May 1, 1933 The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in regular session on the above date with the following members present: Walter Nelson, Jr., Mayor X. N. Prothro, I Raymond M. Myers, X Leon L. Deaton, X Aldermen George D. Fox, X J. S. Bridwell, Z V. R. Smitham, City Manager W. E. McBroom, City Clerk Thelbert Martin, City Attorney The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Moved by Alderman Prothro that W. A. Richardson be granted a license to operate a domino parlor at 920 Scott Avenue. Motion seconded by Alderman Bridwell and carried. Moved by Alderman Myers that the application of J. L. Johnson for a Chauffeur's permit be approved. Motion seconded by Alderman Prothro and carried. Moved by Alderman Myers that the action of the Council in awarding contract to Y. E. Wallace on April 24 for auditing the books of the City and the Wichita General Hospital for the fiscal year ended March 31, 1933, be rescinded on account of the refusal of Wichita County to pay their part of the cost of auditing the hospital books under the bids received. Motion seconded by Alderman Fox and carried. New bids for auditing,books and records of the City and Wichita General Hospital were opened and considered. The following bids were received: M. E. Myles 1,150.00 11 100.00 Ordinance No. 1124 AN ORDINANCE MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FCP THE SUPPORT OF THE CITY GOVERNMENTUNTIL THE FINAL ADOPTION OF A BUDGET AND PASSAGE OF A GENERAL APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE FOR THE YEAR BEGINNING APRIL 1, 19339 AND ENDING MARCH 31, 1934, AND DECLARING AN PMERGENCY. Moved by Alderman Prothro that Ordinance No. 1124 be passed on its third and final reading and be adopted as read. ing vote: Motion seconded by Alderman Deaton end carried by the follow - Yeas: Aldermen Prothro, Deaton, Myers, Fog, and Bridwell. Nays: None. Moved by Alderman Deaton that the City Treasurer be instructed to transfer the sum of $3,796.25 from the Water Fund to the following Bond Interest Funds to pay interest due May 1, 1933: Water Refundin.&/Bond Interest Series C - $3,107.50 Refunding water Bond Interest Ser C-1 - $688.75 also transfer $302.50 from the Park Fund to Refunding Park Bond Interest Series E to pay interest coupons due May 1, 1933. Motion seconded by Alderman Bridwell and carried. ORDINANCE NO 1125 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 496, PASSED AND APPROVED ON THE 24TH DAY OF MARCH, A. D. 1924, ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE FOR THE REGULATION OF PUBLIC DOMINO PARLORS,- SO AS TO REQUIRE SUCH PUBLIC DOMINO PARLORS TO CLOSE THEIR DOORS DURING WEEK DAY -NIGHTS FROM 11:50 O'CLOCK P. M. UNTIL 6:00 O'CLOCK A.M. Moved by Alderman Deaton that the City recognize Boys' Week which began Sunday, April 30 and allow boys to be designated under the direction of the Mayor to hold city offices in cmnection with regular officers on Friday, May 5. Motion seconded by Alderman Prothro and carried. 1208 Moved by Alderman Prothro that Monday, May 15, be set for a public hearing on proposed appropriations for the fiscal year be- ginning April 1, 1933, by publication of the following notice: "Notice is hereby given in compliance with the provisions of Section 68 of the Charter of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, the Board of Aldermen sitting as a committee of the whole will on the 15th day of May, 1933, at 7:30 P.M. in the regular meeting place at the Memorial Auditorium in said city hold public hearings on the proposed appropriations ordinance for the year beginning April 1, 1933, and ending March 31, 1934."
