Min 04/05/19331189 RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND INSTRUCTING THE CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS TO ADVERTISE AND SELL THOSE ANIMALS IN THE MUNICIPAL ZOO AGAINST WHICH I. S. HORNE AND HORNE'S ZOOLOGICAL GARDENS HAVE A CLAIM, TO SATISFY CHARGES FOR THEIR CARE AND KEEP; SUCH SALE TO BE HELD ON APRIL 24, 1933, AT SCOTLAND PARK WHERE SUCH ANIMALS ARE NOW LOCATED IN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authori- zed and instructed to offer for sale. and sell all the animals now in the Municipal Zoo against which I. S. Horne and Hornets Zoo logical Gardens have a claim, to satisfy charges for the care and keep of said animals by City of Wichita Falls to the date of said sale; such sale to be made on April 24, 1933, between the hours of ten (10) o'clock A.M. and four (4) o'clock P.M. at Scotland Park where said animals are now located and situated. SECTION 2. That the proceeds from such sale be distributed in the following manner: (1) the expenses of said sale to be paid therefronq (2) charges for the care and keep of said animals to be paid; and (3) I the remaining money to be delivered to the said I.S. Horne and Horne's Zoological Gardens. PASSED AND APPROVED this 3rd day of April, A. D. 1933. Moved by Alderman McCutchen that the meeting be adjourned subject to call of the Mayor. Motion seconded by Alderman Prothro and carried. The Board of Aldermen then adjourned subject to call of the Mayor. READ AND APPROVED this loth day of April, A. McBroom, City Clerk Thelbert Martin, City Attorney 1190 Moved by Alderman Prothro that Alderman Spoonted be ap- pointed Mayor Protein to act during the absence of the Mayor. Motion seconded by Alderman Bridwell and carried. Mayor Protem Spoonts announced the purpose of the meeting to hear representatives of the Texas Electric Service Company ex- plain in detail their proposed new rate schedule. The Company was represented by President Duncan, Vice President J. B. Thomas, and Attorney Robert Hangar, and Local Manager A. E. Kelly. Aldermen Elect Raymond Myers, Leon L. Deaton, and George D. Fox attended the meeting. Attorney Hangar and Vice President Thomas spoke at length on the proposed new schedules effecting domestic;small power; commercial lighting and large commercial lighting service, explain- ing in detail the schedules offered and estimating the reduction in cost to consumers under each classification. After the hearing an executive session was held at which time the proposed new rate schedules were examined and discussed. The meeting was adjourned at 6:20 P. M.
