Min 04/03/19331188 Wichita Falls, Texas Memorial Auditorium Building April 3, 1933 The Board of Alderman of the City of Wichita Falls met in regular session on the above date with the following members present; Walter Nelson, Jr., Mayor C. E. McCutchen, I J. M. Spoonts, I R. 0. Harvey, X Aldermen J. N. Prothro, X V. R. Smitham, City Manager W. E. McBroom, City Clerk Thelbert Martin, City Attorney The Minutes of the previous meeting were .read and approved. Moved by Alderman Spoonts that C. M. Reed be appointed as election judge at the Buchanan Street Fire Station Box in the place of P. S,. Richardson to serve in the general election to be held on April 4. Motion seconded by Alderman McCutchen and carried. Moved by Alderman Spoonts that the City Clerk be instructed to advertise for bids for an audit of the books and records of all departmentsof the City, including the Wichita General Hospital, for the fiscal year ended March 31, 1933; said bids to be submitted at 7:30 P. M. April 24, 1933, and to be in accordance with specifica- tions heretofore approved by this Body. Motion seconded by Alderman Harvey and carried. Moved by Alderman Harvey that the City Clerk be instructed to advertise for bids for a city depository for the year beginning MAY 1, 1933, and ending April 30, 1934; said bids to be received at 7:30 P. M. April 24, 1933, in the Council Chamber in the Memorial Auditorium. Motion seconded by Alderman Spoonts and carried. Moved by Alderman Spoonts that the following resolution be adopted. Motion seconded by Alderman McCutchen and carried by the following vote: Yeas: Aldermen Spoonts, McCutchen, Prothro, and Harvey. Nays: None. 1189 RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND INSTRUCTING THE CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS TO ADVERTISE AND SELL THOSE ANIMALS IN THE MUNICIPAL ZOO AGAINST WHICH I. S. HORNE AND HORNE'S ZOOLOGICAL GARDENS HAVE A CLAIM, TO SATISFY CHARGES FOR THEIR CARE AND KEEP; SUCH SALE TO BE HELD ON APRIL 24, 1933, AT SCOTLAND PARK WHERE SUCH ANIMALS ARE NOW LOCATED IN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authori- zed and instructed to offer for sale. and sell all the animals now in the Municipal Zoo against which I. S. Horne and Hornets Zoo logical Gardens have a claim, to satisfy charges for the care and keep of said animals by City of Wichita Falls to the date of said sale; such sale to be made on April 24, 1933, between the hours of ten (10) o'clock A.M. and four (4) o'clock P.M. at Scotland Park where said animals are now located and situated. SECTION 2. That the proceeds from such sale be distributed in the following manner: (1) the expenses of said sale to be paid therefronq (2) charges for the care and keep of said animals to be paid; and (3) I the remaining money to be delivered to the said I.S. Horne and Horne's Zoological Gardens. PASSED AND APPROVED this 3rd day of April, A. D. 1933. Moved by Alderman McCutchen that the meeting be adjourned subject to call of the Mayor. Motion seconded by Alderman Prothro and carried. The Board of Aldermen then adjourned subject to call of the Mayor. READ AND APPROVED this loth day of April, A.
