Min 03/06/1933ILIL 76 Wichita Falls, Texas Memorial Auditorium Building March 6, 1933 The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in regular session on the above date with the following members present: J. M. Spoonts, R. 0. Harvey, X J. N. Prothro, Y Aldermen J. S. Bridwell, X V. R. Smitham, City Manager W. E. McBroom, City Clerk Thelbert Martin, City Attorney Moved by Alderman Bridwell that Alderman Harvey be elected Mayor Protein to act during the absence from the City of Mayor Walter Nelson, Jr. Motion seconded by Alderman Spoonts and carried. The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Moved by Alderman Spoonts that S. W. Baker be granted a permit to erect and operate a fruit stand at 1205 Eleventh Street. Motion seconded by Alderman Bridwell and carried. Moved by Alderman Spoonts that the following resolution be adopted. Motion seconded by Alderman Prothro and carried by the following vote: Yeas: Aldermen Spoonts, Prothro, and Bridwell. Nays: None. RESOLUTION BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN that due to the fact that the Wichita Falls Traction Company has temporarily reduced its bus fares from 100 to an average of 64410 that the gross receipts tax as set forth in Section 4 of Ordinance No. 656 be remitted for the calendar year 1933, provided, however, that the Wichita Falls Traction Company will carry free of charge two meter readers and one card delivery man during this year . ORDINANCE NO. 1119 AN ORDINANCE ADDING PARAGRAPH 7 TO SECTION 2B AND AMENDING SECTION 2B-1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 238, PASSED AM APPROVED ON THE 28TH DAY OF DECEMBER, A. D. 1916, ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING PHYSICIANS AND OTHER PERSONS TO REPORT THE EXISTENCE OF CERTAIN COMMUNICABLE DISEASES, PROVIDING FOR QUARANTINE, ISOLATION, DISINFECTION, REGULATIM THE CONDUCT OF PERSONS SUFFERING FROM SUCH DISEASES AND OF CONTACTS AND FIXING PENALTIES," SO AS TO ONLY REQUIRE PERSONS SUFFERING FROM MUMPS TO BE EXCLUDED FROM SCHOOL AND PUBLIC GATHERINGS BUT REQUIRING THAT ALL CASES BE REPORTED TO THE HEALTH OFFICER FOR STATISTICAL PURPOSES. ORDINANCE NO. 1120 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FIRST PARAGRAPH OF SECTION 5 OF ORDINANCE NO. 656, PASSED AND APPROVED ON THE 14TH DAY OF DECEMBER, A.D. 1925, ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE GRANTING TO WICHITA FALLS TRACTION COMPANY AND ITS ASSIGNS THE RIGHT TO MAINTAIN AND OPERATE MOTOR TRUCKS, JITNEYS AND BUSES OVER AND ALONG THE PUBLIC ROADS, STREETS, SQUARES, ALLEYS, AND HIGHWAYS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, FOR THE PURPOSE OF CARRYING PASSENGERS FOR HIRE," SO AS TO REQUIRE ONLY $100000.00 FOR ALL PERSONS INJURED IN ANY ONE ACCIDENT OR OCCASION INSTEAD OF $1009000.00 AS SUCH ORDINANCE NOW PROVIDES. ORDINANCE NO. 1121 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 445, PASSED AND APPROVED ON DULY 2, 1923, ENTITLED n AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR RULES, REGULATIONS, AND RATES AND FOR THE OPERATION AND MANAGEMENT OF THE WATER DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY, "SO AS TO ESTABLISH WATER RATES AND TO ALLOW REDUCED RATES FOR RESIDENCES IN THE CITY LIMITS DURING THE MONTHS OF MAY, JUKE, DULY, AUGUST, AND SEPTEMBER OF EACH AND EVERY YEAR. ki Moved by Alderman Bridwell that Ordinance No. 1121 be passed on its first reading. Moved by Alderman Bridwell that the City Manager be authorized to send $30.00 to the League of Texas Municipalities for support of the Legislative Committee of the League. Motion seconded by Alderman Prothro and carried. Moved by Alderman Spoonts that the license approved for Mrs. G. W. Green for the operation of public dances near the Holiday Creek bridge be revoked. Motion seconded by Alderman Bridwell and carried. Moved by Alderman Prothro that the meeting be adjourned subject to call of the Mayor. Motion seconded by Alderman Spoonts and carried.
