Min 02/20/19331166 _11"_n"..1 Wichita Falls, Texas Memorial Auditorium Building February 20, 1933 The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in regular session on the above date with the following members present; Walter Nelson, Jr., Mayor J. M. Spoonts, C. E. McCutchen, X J. S. B ridwell, X Aldermen J. N. Prothro, X V. R. Smitham, City Manager W. E. McBroom, City Clerk Thelbert Martin, City Attorney The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Moved by Alderman McCutchen that the Shrine Patrol be per- mitted to conduct a tent show on the vacant lot on Indiana Avenue between Tenth and Eleventh Streets; said show to be conducted for a period of one week during the coming spring months. Motion seconded by Alderman Spoonts and carried. Moved by. Alderman Prothro that additional collateral secur- ing the deposit of the City of Wichita Falls in the,First National Bank in the form of ''46,000.00 worth of City of Wichita Falls Bonds placed in the Trust Department for the benefit of the City of Wichita Falls be ratified and approved. Motion seconded by Alderman Spoonts and carried. Moved by Alderman McCutchen that the Tax Department be authorized to accept payment of 1932 city taxes without interest and penalty during the month of February 1933. Motion seconded by Alderman Prothro and carried. Moved by Alderman Spoonts that the City Treasurer be in- structed to transfer funds from the Water Operating Fund to the Water Bond Interest and Sinking Fund to cover payment of interest and nrin- cinal due February 10, 1933, as follows: Transfer From Transfer To Water Fund - $2,070.00 Water Bond Int. B. Price has been appointed Chairman of the Charities Commission and Homer Lee a member, making the new and cor- rect personnel of this Commission as follows: J. B. Price, Chairman Roy B. Jones Homer Lee L. H. Estes W. D. Cline C. J. Coffey John O'Donohue Pat F. Simmons A. E. welly Moved by Alderman McCutchen that the action of the Mayor in appointing J. P. Price Chairman of the Charities Commission instead of Homer Lee be ratified and approved. Motion seconded by Alderman Prothro and carried. ORDINANCE NO 1119 AN ORDINANCE ADDING PARAGRAPH 7 TO SECTION 2B AND AMENDING SECTION 2B-1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 238, PASSED AND APPROVED ON THE 28TH DAY OF DECEMBER, A. D. 1916, ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING PHYSICIANS AND OTHER PERSONS TO REPORT THE EXISTENCE OF CERTAIN COMMUNICABLE DIS- EASES, PROVIDING VOR QUARANTINE, ISOLATION, DISTNFECTION, REGULATING THE CONDUCT OF PERSONS SUFFERING FROM SUCH DISEASES AND OF CONTACTS AND FIX- ING PENALTIES," SO AS TO ONLY REQUIRE PERSONS SUFFERING FROM MUMPS TO BE EXCLUDED FR9SCHOOL AND PUBLIC GATHERINGS BUT REQUIRING THAT ALL CASES BE REPORTED TO� THE HEALTH OFFICER MR STATISTICAL PTTRT'OSES. Moved by Alderman Spoonts that Ordinance No. 1119 be passed on its first reading. Motion seconded by Alderman Bridwell and carried by the fol- lowing vote: Yeas: Aldermen Spoonts, Bridwell, Prothro, and McCutchen. Nays: None. Moved by Alderman McCutchen that the plat of Roy I. Carter Subdivision of Lots 1 and 2, Block 167, Original Townsite, be approved. Motion seconded by Alderman Spoonts and carried. Moved by Alderman Spoonts that the Water Department be auth- orized to reduce present water rates now in effect to the following schedule for the months of May to September, 1933, inclusive: First 4,000 gal.
