Ordinance making an appropriation to the Special Revenue Fund for a
reimbursement grant up to $5,849,910 for COVID-19 response as
outlined in 601(a) of the Social Security Act, as added by section 5001
of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act ("CARES
Act")
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has been notified that it is eligible to receive
TDEM funding from the CARES Act in an amount up to $5,849,910 for qualifying COVID-
19 expenditures and with no cash match required; and,
WHEREAS, these funds can be drawn down by the City, for qualifying expenditure
reimbursement; and,
WHEREAS, the City will not use these funds for lost revenue replacement; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
There is appropriated up to $5,849,910 in the special revenue fund for COVID-19
response as outlined in 601(a) of the Social Security Act, as added by section 5001 of the
Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act ("CARES Act"), and the City Manager
is authorized to execute all documents necessary to accept said funds on behalf of the
City of Wichita Falls.
