RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF INTERLOCAL
AGREEMENTS BY AND BETWEEN THE WICHITA FALLS-WICHITA
COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH DISTRICT AND THE INDEPENDENT
SCHOOL DISTRICTS OF BURKBURNETT, CITY VIEW, ELECTRA AND
WICHITA FALLS, REGARDING THE PROCUREMENT OF THOSE
DISTRICTS' RESPECTIVE FACILITIES DURING A DECLARED PUBLIC
HEALTH EMERGENCY; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE
MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN
TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the outbreak of disease from natural or man-made sources, or as
the result of an act of terrorism can pose facility, manpower and resource problems
beyond capacity; and
WHEREAS, in order to protect the health and safety of the public throughout
Wichita Falls, the City Council seeks to secure equipment and resources from local
providers in the event of a local public health emergency or act of terrorism; and,
WHEREAS, a formal agreement between the City of Wichita Falls and various
private entities would allow for better coordination of this effort, ensure that appropriate
documentation is maintained by those providing resources, and help to make certain
that this effort is accomplished as quickly as possible should the need arise.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Those certain interlocal agreements, by and between the Wichita
Falls/Wichita County Public Health District and the Independent School Districts of
Burkburnett, City View, Electra and Wichita Falls, regarding the procurement of those
Districts' respective facilities during a declared public health emergency, are hereby
approved, and the Director of the Wichita Falls/Wichita County Public Health District is
hereby authorized to execute the agreement on behalf of the City of Wichita Falls.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
