Resolution authorizing the City Manager to apply for and accept a
Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) grant
for Downtown infrastructure improvements in an amount up to
$25,000,0000
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has identified in its current strategic plan the
need for infrastructure improvements in the Downtown area; and,
WHEREAS, funding for this project may be available through the Department of
Transportation through the Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development
(BUILD) Discretionary Grant program; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls may apply for Department of Transportation
to seek 90% funding for these Downtown capital improvements; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls may apply for up to $25,000,000 through the
Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development Discretionary Grant program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to apply for and accept a Better Utilizing
Investments to Leverage Development Discretionary Grant program funding opportunity
from the Department of Transportation for infrastructure improvements in Downtown
Wichita Falls in the amount of $25,000,000.
