Ordinance accepting and appropriating a donation for expenditures
specifically related to 2020 Census Public Awareness and Community
Outreach Campaign for the Wichita Falls Census 2020 Complete
Count Committee in the amount of $15,000
WHEREAS, the City's Census 2020 Complete Count Committee is tasked with
public outreach and community engagement to ensure an accurate count of all city
residents in the pending 2020 United States Decennial Census; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls received private donations totaling $15,000-1
and,
WHEREAS, the private donation was directed for use in the 2020 Census for public
awareness and outreach in an effort to improve local response rates; and,
WHEREAS, approval of these funds could not have been anticipated prior to the
adoption of the 2019 - 2020 budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
There is hereby appropriated in the General Fund $15,000 for the Census 2020
Complete Count Committee for Public Awareness and Community Outreach.
