Resolution authorizing the City Manager to apply for and accept a
Section 5339 (b) Grants for Bus and Bus Facilities funding opportunity
from the Federal Transit Administration to purchase four (4) 35-Foot,
Low -Floor Transit Buses in an amount of $1,800,000
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has identified the need for the replacement
of its transit bus fleet; and,
WHEREAS, funding for this project may be available through the Federal Transit
Administration under the Section 5339 (b) Grants for Bus and Bus Facilities program;
and,
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls may apply for TxDOT Transportation
Development Credits to seek 100% funding for this capital purchase to offset local match
requirements; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls may apply for $1,800,000 through the Section
5339 (b) Grants for Bus and Bus Facilities program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to apply for and accept a Section 5339 (b)
Grants for Bus and Bus Facilities funding opportunity from the Federal Transit
Administration for the purchase of four 35-foot, low -floor transit buses in the amount of
$1,800,000.
