Resolution authorizing the submittal of a grant application and
designation of Authorized Official to the State Homeland Security
Grant Program via the Office of the Governor for $33,453.00

WHEREAS, The City Council finds it in the best interest of the citizens of Wichita
Falls to acquire Technical Rescue Equipment for a Regional Rescue Team with grant
funding (Grant/Application #: 4023301) for the FY2020 Homeland Security Grant
Program; and,
WHEREAS, The City Council agrees to provide applicable matching funds for the
said project as required by the State Homeland Security Grant Funding application; and,
WHEREAS, The City Council agrees that in the event of loss or misuse of the
Office of the Governor funds, the City Council assures that the funds will be returned to
the Office of the Governor in full; and,
WHEREAS, The City Council designates Jessica Williams, Director of Finance, as
the grantee's authorized official. The authorized official is given the power to apply for,
accept, reject, alter or terminate the grant on behalf of the applicant agency.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Council approves submission of the grant application and designation of
the Authorized Official for Technical Rescue Equipment, Training and Supplies for a
Regional Technical Rescue Team (Grant/Application #: 4023301) to the Office of the
Governor.
