Resolution authorizing City staff to submit a letter to Texas Parks and
four-lane boat ramp grant at Lake Wichita
WHEREAS, on September 15, 2015, the City applied to the Texas Parks and
Wildlife Department (TP&W) for a grant for the construction of a boat ramp at Kemp Street
and Lake Wichita; and,
WHEREAS, the TP&W announced award of grant in the amount of $499,680; and,
WHEREAS, the Lake Wichita Revitalization Committee committed to fund the
matching share of funding; and,
WHEREAS, the Lake Wichita Revitalization Committee has pivoted their
fundraising efforts to the Veterans Plaza and would like to terminate the agreement for a
four-lane boat ramp grant with TP&W.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Staff is hereby authorized to submit a letter to Texas Parks and Wildlife expressing
intent to terminate the agreement for a four-lane boat ramp grant at Lake
Wichita.
