Ordinance authorizing acquisition by purchase and/or condemnation
of the property described as 1.91 acres, Block 11, Denton County
School Land, LG1 for the Quail Drainage Project: Phase 1
WHEREAS, re
the 1.91-acre tract of land to improve the drainage and reduce key water surface
elevations downstream, and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that property interests must be acquired for this
project, and in accordance with state law, the City must offer the fair market value to the
owners for the acquisitions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Council determines that the property interests described and depicted in
the following attached Project Location Map and Property Location Map with the legal
description of 1.91 acres, Block 11, Denton County School Land, LG1 and owned by OPG
Land Development LLC; is necessary for the Quail Creek Drainage Project: Phase I and
the City Manager is hereby authorized to direct the Property Administrator to bargain in
good faith for the purchase of the property interests with just compensation to be offered
to the property owners for an amount that has been determined to be the fair market
value.
