Ordinance No. 65-2019
Ordinance repealing Ordinance 33-2017 and canceling a
Reinvestment Zone that is located at 300 Travis
WHEREAS, on August 1, 2017, the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas
approved Ordinance 33-2017, which created the Convention Reinvestment Zone; and,
WHEREAS, for the last two years, that zone has remained vacant and no business
has occupied that Convention Reinvestment Zone; and,
WHEREAS, the City wishes to abandon the Convention Reinvestment Zone.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
1. The City Council makes the following findings:
a) The Convention Reinvestment Zone has remained vacant and no business
has made of use of the Convention Reinvestment Zone.
b) The Convention Reinvestment Zone in its current iteration is too small to
benefit the City in any meaningful way.
2. The City hereby terminates the Convention Reinvestment Zone as described in
Ordinance 33-2017, and the ordinance creating said zone is hereby repealed and
terminated and shall be null and void and have no further force and effect.
