Ordinance Rezoning Approximately 202 189 Acres Of Land Along
The Lawrence Road Area South Of Kell Freeway, From Light
Industrial To General Commercial, And Amending The City's Land
Use Plan By Changing Part of Said Area From Light Industrial To
Commercial
WHEREAS, at its March 14, 2012 meeting, the Planning and Zoning
Commission unanimously recommended approval of this rezoning request; and
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes that this area has developed over the
years in a general commercial nature, and upon review of this request has determined
that the rezoning of the Lawrence Road area from Light Industrial to General
Commercial, and the associated Land Use Plan amendment are in the public interest.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
1. Approximately 202 189 acres of land, including 3601 McNiel, located along
Lawrence Road generally situated between McNiel Avenue and Arthur Street, and Kell
Freeway and Call Field Road, and specifically described by the attached map herein
incorporated in this ordinance as Attachment "A," is hereby rezoned from Light
Industrial to General Commercial.
2. The Land Use Plan as shown on the attached map herein incorporated in this
ordinance as Attachment "B," is hereby amended by changing part of the area within
the vicinity of Lawrence Road area from light industrial to commercial.
