Ordinance Rezoning Approximately 207.4 Acres Of Land From Single
Family -1 to Heavy Industrial And Approximately 31.5 Acres Of Land
From Single Family -1 To Light Industrial, And Amending The City's
Land Use Plan By Changing Approximately 31.5 Acres From
Industrial To Light Industrial
WHEREAS, the land commonly known as the Vetrotex Certainteed property was
annexed into the City limits in 2009 and, pursuant to Section 1065 of the Zoning
Ordinance, received a temporary designation of the most restrictive zoning of Single
Family -1 until a permanent zoning classification is given by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, at its March 14, 2012 meeting, the Planning and Zoning
Commission unanimously recommended approval of this request; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed this request and has determined that
the herein described Zoning and Land Use Plan amendments are in the public interest.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
1. Approximately 207.4 acres of land, and approximately 31.5 acres of land a as
shown on the attached map incorporated in this ordinance as Attachment "A," are
hereby rezoned from Single Family -1 to Heavy Industrial and Light Industrial, as
depicted on said attachment.
2. The Land Use Plan depicted on the attached map incorporated in this
ordinance as Attachment "B" is hereby amended by changing 31.5 acres of land from
industrial to light industrial.
