Librarian's report
There were no minutes to approve from April as we had a reception for the chair artists rather than a regular
meeting.
A general overview of the last month's CHAIR-ity activities were discussed. Ms. Hausburg reported that
approximately $1500 had been raised by the CHAIR-ity event. Two lots have been sold. Currently the third lot is
on display in front of the Room of Requirement. There are three additional lots to sell over the next few weeks.
She asked that Board members share the Facebook post with friends and possibly bid on a chair.
Mr. Smith handed out a press release regarding the Ride to Read program. Library staff met with John Burrus
last week to work out the logistics of this program, suggested by the Early Childhood Coalition of Wichita
County. It will allow school -age children to participate in the library's summer programming by providing free
bus transportation to and from the library. Ms. Hausburg will email the press release to board members.
Ms. Hausburg reported that the library has met all pertinent accreditation criteria for FY2020. Accredited
libraries are eligible to participate in statewide interlibrary loan, E-rate --the federal telecommunications
discount program, TexShare Database Program, TexShare Card Program and any funding opportunities offered
through the Texas State Library.
She reminded the group that the Board goes on hiatus during the summer months and will meet again on
September 17th at 4: 30 p.m.
There being no further business, meeting was adjourned at 4:50 p.m.
