Ordinance Declaring Unopposed Candidates As Elected To The
Mayor, Councilor District 4, And Councilor District 5 Positions, And
Declaring Those Three Elections Cancelled In Accordance With
Chapter 2 Of The Texas Election Code
WHEREAS, the City Clerk has filed with the City Council a Certification of
Unopposed Candidates in the Mayor, Councilor District 4, and Councilor District 5
positions;
WHEREAS, the City Clerk has certified that there are no write -in candidates for
those offices under applicable law;
WHEREAS, the City Clerk has certified that there are no propositions to appear
on the ballot; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 2 of the Texas Election Code provides for the cancellation
of elections under certain conditions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
1. Glenn Barham is declared elected to the Office of Mayor for a two -year term,
Tim Ingle is declared elected to the Office of Councilor District 4 for a two -year term,
and Mary Ward is declared elected to the Office of Councilor District 5 for a two -year
term.
2. Under this declaration, the elections for the Mayoral position, Councilor
District 4 position, and District 5 position are cancelled.
