Meeting called to order at 4:31 p.m. Minutes from January were approved.
Librarian's report
Ms. Hausburg shared the completed Centennial scrapbook and said it will be stored with other archival
materials in Room 205. She informed the group that the shadow box for the time capsule arrived and was
mounted on one of the columns near the DVD fixtures. The time capsule has been filled with items collected last
year such as children's drawings, photographs, oral history recordings, letters from library staff members to
their future counterparts, and more. A press release has been completed and will be sent out at the end of the
week.
Adopt -a -Chair: Another chair has been returned. We hope to see all of them back by the deadline of April 26t"
New Business
The group brainstormed about how to hold the auction and publicize the event. Ms. Adams suggested an online
platform. The group liked this idea. After some discussion, the group came up with the following:
• Auction will begin on April 30 for those who attend the reception at 5:30 p.m.
• Auction will run until June 6
• Buy It Now price will be set at $300
• Minimum opening bid will be $75, with bidding increasing in $10 increments
• We will feature some of the outstanding chairs at the Artwalk through May
• Emily will reach out to her contact at Christ the King to get strategies for appealing to our target
audience. She will have all the details ironed out by March 26th
• Jana will write a press release to send out to news stations in early April
• Jana will design a new flyer promoting the auction
• Jana will talk to staff about ways to recognize donors
• Board members will reach out to their contacts who might be interested in donating to the cause
There being no new business, meeting was adjourned at 5:15 p.m.
In lieu of an April meeting, we'll all attend the reception honoring artists and featuring updated chairs on April
30, 2019 @ 5:30 p.m.
